I can see Rodgers in about 9 months time coming out with something along the lines of "in ever wanted him to leave.....I was just testing his desire when I accepted all those bids for him"

I still don't think he has a long-term future here, but would be happy to see him start as part of a front 2 today.

My biggest criticism of him was always that he isn't suited to playing up top on his own or out wide, so this suits him better.

It's up to him really, he has the tools to succeed, his movement and energy definitely made a difference after coming on midweek, he just needs to show some more composure in front of goal. He's shown at Roma he can do it, he just needs to start producing. This is a big opportunity for him in these weeks whilst Sturridge is out. I think he needs to start, but obviously we'll see. He's a lot better than most give him credit for.
