    Liverpool v WBA Build Up

    SAT 4 OCT 2014 - PREMIER LEAGUE
    Liverpool v West Brom K.O 15:00

Yeah that's right we have a game .....Now last season we'd be 2 goals up within 5 minutes,No idea if Sturridge is fit for this game,Lallana will no doubt start, will Rodgers give Sterling the day off?also need to keep a check on Wba's Berahino

We simply must win. A loss or even a draw would be disastrous.

      ANGRY NOISES!

We should be mad up for this one, we've majorly got a point to prove at the moment. A win before the international break would be great for confidence.

      Can Wisdom play for them?

      ANY win will do.

Yeah that sums up Pabs perfectly I'd say.

If it were up to me, something like

                Mignolet
                Manquillo - Lovren - Skrtl - Moreno
                Henderson - Lucas - Lallana
                Coutinho
Balotelli - Sturridge (Or Borini if unfit)

Sterling needs to be taken out of the limelight for a bit, Gerrard needs to a rest and we don't have any other midfielders. Maybe Suso instead of Coutinho to keep him on his toes.

Gerrard is about to get a rest during the international break so he will play and Suso is injured.

Gerrard needs to be dropped then, if not he better deliver a proper DM performance.

                        BR's WBA Press Conference:

Brendan Rodgers today explained that other than having to 'wait and see' about the fitness of Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool will not be able to welcome back any of their injured players in time for the visit of West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

In addition to the striker, the Reds are currently without Joe Allen, Emre Can, Jon Flanagan, Glen Johnson and Mamadou Sakho - all on the sidelines with different complaints as the campaign enters its third month.

At his pre-match Melwood press conference for the weekend encounter against the Baggies, the manager was asked for the latest update on the condition of his squad, and reported no significant progress.

"At this moment in time, there is no-one new to come back into the squad," Rodgers explained, before adding specifically about Sturridge: "We'll have to wait and see."

One journalist in attendance at the club's training complex pondered whether the absence of Allen, who is out with a knee problem, had shown how important the Welsh midfielder is to the side.

Rodgers agreed and provided a positive assessment of a projected comeback for the No.24. "In this period it certainly has," the Northern Irishman answered. "He's a player that never gets mentioned, or very rarely.

"He's a player that very rarely turns over the ball, he always loves the football and he gets other people playing. The key feature for Joe on top of that is his intensity and pressure - he presses the game really well.

"He is a very intelligent footballer; tactically, he's outstanding in the game. And we've really missed his energy and quality since he's been out injured.

"He'll be back after the international break - it's too soon this weekend. But hopefully he'll be back for the Queens Park Rangers game."

                        James Pearce:
Rodgers: "My focus is on getting Sturridge fit for Liverpool. He has been out for nearly four weeks with a grade one strain."

Rodgers: "I'm not here to moan about injuries. We need to get back to our core principles."

Rodgers: "Steven echoed in his own interview what I said after the game. We were too soft."

Rodgers: "Mario is trying to work hard on aspects of the game we demand here. He needs to improve his goal return."

Rodgers: "Talks with Sturridge's reps are ongoing (over new deal)."

Not arsed about the performance here, just win, though a performance too would be nice but kinda feels like our season properly starts after the international break. Arsenal should lose so get a win and at worst we'd be 1 point behind Utd/Spurs and level with Arsenal.

Suspect it'll be pretty tight, nervous and knobheads in the crowd will be chanting "attack, attack, attack" if we arent 2 up after 10 minutes but we'll sneak it.

Then hopefully get fully going after the break. Though Hodgson will probably have Sterling running Wembley's steps after the game and he'll snap his ankle.

I think a performance is very important as a marker for the rest of the season......
BR and Balotelli in training today
