    Johnson actually looked OK.
Lovren needs to relax, Skrtel needs to wake up.
Moreno getting stuck in as normal.
SG needs resting as soon as Allen available.
Looking forward to Lallana / Sturridge / Sterling.

    Slowly, but onward we go...

Aye, seeing Lallana, Sterling and Sturridge on the pitch together will be good and I think with the movement Sturridge brings will allow Balotelli to offer more as well.

I actually think Balotelli takes up some decent positions, but he is always marked. With Sturridge defences are less likely to know hoe to defend against us and we can look to switch the focus of the attack as we did last year with players interchanging. We look, at times, a bit predictable this season.

Lovren today had his worst game of the season IMO. But we got away with it. Funny as the pairing looked good today, but they looked poor as individuals. I'd stick with them as I think there's signs they and Mignolet are coming through the storm. Much improved at set pieces today, against the team who are the best I the league at them.

Mind, whilst we looked sketchy at times, they barely threatened. Pen was clearly outside the box too. But Lovren was looking a bit flat footed, think he needs to get used to the pressure and amount of games. I'd say the same for Raheem, who can't shoot or control the ball when he sees the whites of the keepers eyes now after a great start.

Playing two times a week isn't easy if you're not used too it. Thankfully, only the Chavs looked to have taken advantage of our malaise. Wouldn't be too gutted if they won tomorrow, I'm all about top 4 this season after a very shaky start.
It wasn't that West Brom rarely threatened - they never threatened. They got a penalty that wasn't even close to being correctly awarded. That apart, our defence had little to do and they never otherwise looked like scoring.

Our fans make me laugh. Whilst it wasn't an easy win, we never looked like losing. Yet on here you'd think we were under the cosh with Mignolet keeping us in the game.

In reality it was a bog standard home win, with the home team never looking like losing while the away team huffed and puffed ineffectively. But if you read this thread you'd think we were somehow lucky. Laughable really

Yup the added pace and movement from Sturridge will cause teams headaches and allow other players to get into threatening positions for us.

Keeping him fit will be important for the rest of the season.

Hmm. Thats what everyone has been saying - what posts are you referring too? I've not read a single post in this thread that says anything different than you have. Certainly not any 'under the cosh' type stuff. The way people are talking about the win being a relief is, I think, because we have been short of wins. The main concern has been the form of Lovren who had quite a few dodgy moments.

I watched it on setanta, the ****ing commentators are right cunts. Never stopped criticising Liverpool and were constantly raving about Berahino, you'd think it was Messi that was on the pitch the way they were going on about him. The disappointment was clearly audible in their voices when we scored and eventually won. Horrible cunts

Lambert is very slow, isn't he. Not sure what the point of him is because he adds nothing to this side. Lovren is also a massive worry.

Other than that I thought everyone played well. Ming was even OK, although his kicking was still ****. It wasn't brilliant, but we are slowly improving. Unbelievable that after such a dreadful start we are only 1 point off CL spots. The other teams have let us off the hook.

One of things I watched with interest was towards the end when Hendo was pushed deeper and Gerrard forward. I saw enough to put me right off Hendo being given that role on a more permanent basis. The lad has many qualities but one of them isn't agility, he has the turning circle of a barge and he looked a bit exposed in that last 10 minutes. A bit of pace and trickery and he was all at sixes and sevens. Keep him in the middle of the park where he we can utilize his energy, pressing and passing.

Yeah that was a bit mad. I'm all for getting Gerrard up the pitch but to bring Lucas and drop Hendo deepest instead was weird, especially after the influence Hendo had had on the game in a more advanced position, which he did a lot last season. It's like Rodgers is re learning things he should have already known from last season!

Lallana was quality today - AGAIN. Outstanding from him, never stops running that lad. 100% start to finish, he's looking a real good signing.

Thought when we scored the second our play was really good.

Stevie has to be back further up the top, looked like a new player today seeing him further up.

Balotelli actually looked good and chased for a change, great to see and he played two lovely weighted passes which really deserved better finishes.

The defence still gives me the jitters though, look terrifying sometimes.

Maddest bit was them somehow turning a Lambert missed chance into a stick to beat Mario with.

Best thing Lambert did was pulling his leg out of the way of Henderson's shot. Must have been so tempted to stick his toe out but he was offside.

Actually, his movement was very good when Lallana scored. Involved in the buildup and found good space on the edge of the six yard box and would have scored if Lallana had crossed rather than shot.
