That was a painful game to go to....not just the performance but I got drunk last night, fell off a table whilst dancing and now my index finger is twice the size, plus I was rough this morning.

Suarez is the difference. World class players bring the best out of the players around them. He's gone and so has the energy in the team along with him.

We now have Balotelli up top who couldn't put a worse shift in even if he was in a coma.

many said we looked better with two up top, but i think it was lamberts better contribution, holding the ball and bringing others in to play, that looked better and it had very little to do with the 'other' fella with the adhd.
              Baffled that coutinho didn't start.

Best player on weds and took him off, I assumed to rest him for today....then doesn't start him....comes on and he's best player

We're playing without strikers at the moment, can't expect to win games like that. At least we had a bit of control in the middle today, Can was pretty good.

How long before Sturridge gets back ?

I'm not as disappointed as I should be. Dropping points against Hull is obviously not good enough, and this tendency of starting flat in games is really costing us. If we started games with some more gusto I think we'd be much higher in the table.

However, I think we desperately needed a clean sheet and to get one is a great relief. We controlled the game for the most part and I though we were quite solid. Obviously now it's about getting the right balance between being solid and being able to attack in numbers and break teams down. But if we can keep a clean sheet against Swansea and Newcastle as well as hold up better against Real & Chelsea, then we can finally start looking forwards.

With regards to two up top, it's about the right balance. Not many top sides play with two up top, you have to have some really quality strikers to do that. City are a great example. When they come up against the better sides they can't cope and get over ran. I was pleased at the idea of moving towards one up top this season. I think it brings better balance.

                        But......

Mario isn't a lone striker. And I don't think he ever will be. Danny Sturridge is. But we needed to sign another lone striker, not one who needs a partner. We need to scrape top 4 this year and then go again.
                        Forwards.......

Not nearly enough. Although Steve Bruce has only beaten us once and Hull haven't won at Anfield in something like 18 attempts. Or something stupid like that. The bottom line is we should be winning these games at home.

Still more effective than Joe Allen

Of course we should. Although I thought Bruce had a good record against us in as far as not losing.
