So many times down the years we've had to suffer a "Nightmare November" as the press normally put it.

For some reason this is traditionally the month when our club trashes any pre season hopes we had. Whilst a title challenge is long since forgotten, the last two results have come just in time to administer a much needed shock to the system. Whilst the signs were starting to diminish and Rodgers tenure looking increasingly terminal, has he finally found a way to self administer CPR?

Indeed it was Lucas, the much maligned DM who may yet turn out to be the saviour. Long considered by Rodgers to be a key cog in his side when he first arrived, the Merseyside press fed us with the stories about how Lucas would sit with Rodgers in the stands and have his tailor made role explained to him. It seemed a match made in heaven.

But what happened to Lucas? Stevie Gerrard happened. Gerrard has been everything that's great and everything that's not about Brendan's tenure. Carra, Stevie, Agger & Lucas were the four Rodgers saw as his key disciples at the club. Anyone who thinks Rodgers is sentimental ought to ask that lot. Carragher was out before being brought back in when LFC hit the skids. Agger was dismissed due to fitness. Lucas..... Ah poor Lucas.

His fitness levels haven't helped his cause. THAT Lucas we all fell in love with would have been a regular. But what was the seemingly final death blow? Gerrard. Rodgers wasn't stupid, he needed Steven. But as much as he tried, he couldn't fit Gerrard in with Lucas. Something had to give. Appearances for the two speak for themselves.

Anyway, I've gone off topic and I'm off out so can't finish what I've started. But my final is I that I sense a change in the wind.
    Are you a journo?

The way you've written that reads like a Journalist passage, either that or you're talking to yourself.
Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Just read this on another forum and thought it was pretty interesting:

Given that we're scoring an average of about 1.5 goals less per match compared to last season, and our defense is performing at about the same level as last season, here is what our next 11 matches (all of which we won last season) look like with 2 goals subtracted from our score each match from last season's equivalent results:

For example, our next match is home against Stoke. Last season we won this match 1-0. Subtract 2 goals for -1-0, account for the minimum score of 0, and the prediction is a 0-0 draw.

Predict D Liverpool 0–0 Stoke City
Predict L Leicester City (Norwich City) 2–1 Liverpool
        Predict L Liverpool 0–1 Sunderland
Predict W Manchester United 0–1 Liverpool
        Predict W Liverpool 3–1 Arsenal
Predict L Burnley (Fulham) 2–1 Liverpool
Predict L Liverpool 2–3 Swansea City
Predict W Liverpool 3–1 Leicester City (Norwich City)
        Predict D Sunderland 1–1 Liverpool
Predict D Aston Villa 0–0 Liverpool
Predict W Liverpool 2–1 West Ham United

So how did this predictive method perform against matches that have already happened? Not the actual final score, just W, L or D

        Predict L Liverpool 0–1 Southampton (actual W 3-1) wrong
Predict L Manchester City 2–0 Liverpool (actual L 3-1) correct
Predict W Tottenham Hotspur 0–3 Liverpool (actual W 0-3) correct + score match!
Predict L Liverpool 0–2 Aston Villa (actual L 0-1) correct
Predict L West Ham United 1–0 Liverpool (actual L 3-1) correct
        Predict W Liverpool 2–0 Everton (actual D 1-1) wrong
Predict W Liverpool 2–1 West Bromwich Albion (actual W 2-1) correct + score match!
Predict W QPR (Cardiff City) 3–4 Liverpool (actual W 2-3) correct
Predict D Liverpool 0–0 Hull City (actual D 0-0) correct + score match!
Predict L Newcastle United 2–0 Liverpool (actual L 1-0) correct
        Predict L Liverpool 0–2 Chelsea (actual L 1-2) correct
Predict L Crystal Palace 3–1 Liverpool (actual L 3-1) correct + score match!

So, just subtracting 2 goals from our score from last season's equivalent result correctly predicted the WLD in 10 out of 12 matches, and correctly predicted the score in 4 out of 12.

The second half of that post is probably the thickest, most moronic thing I've ever read on a forum.

Using our form this season predicts our form this season well. I wonder how that works

Its stupid beyond believe because it is not comparing like for like.

Its selecting an arbitrary point in time to apply to ALL matches. After 1 match this season we scored an average of 1 goal per game more than after 1 game last season so we should have added 1 goal to our prediction. Then re-calculated our per game average for game 2.

Or just not bothered with a ridiculous method in the first place

The first half is interesting like, showing likely results if our goal scoring doesn't improve. Mind you, still implies the oppo will play the same...still ****e.

We're in the middle of 4 games that will define our (and Rodgers) season. So far it's not going too well...

                        1. Basel h 1-1 Fail
                        2. Man Utd a 0-3 Fail
                        3. Bournemouth a
                        4. Arsenal h

Even though I want Rodgers to stay until season's end if we're knocked out of the League Cup and lose badly at home to Arsenal it wouldn't surprise me if FSG decides they've seen enough of Brendan's weird team selections and inept tactical formations this season and act accordingly

When I think about our current plight I am reminded of riding shotgun with a drunk driver (that would be Brendan). In terms of league form, he's already side-swiped half a dozen parked cars, ran over some garden gnomes but he hasn't yet killed anyone. Yet...

Sure, why don't we let him continue to drive because you know, he might not hit anyone else and he has to sober up at some point.

There's still time to rescue the season, but if we keep letting Rodgers make the calls I fear that any chance of getting anything out of this season will soon be gone.

What's that saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting diffferent results? It applies to the owners letting him pick the team and tactics and much as it does to Rodgers picking crap players.

He's done for me. The line up and tactics versus Basel was the last straw.
