You didn't take my advice then Dan. I loved it, won in the cup 2-1, big Al on sky sports news kept me up to date and i didn't have to watch the **** bits.

Football is all about results and we won.

Swansea for me created one or two openings all night and that was it. Last few minutes of the first half and a few minutes in the second. Other than that we totally dominated, which I guess we would expect. They are a good passing side and for me we completely controlled them.

        But......

Whilst we controlled the game, it's not enough. We have to create more with the possession we had. We are really struggling to break teams down at present. I know it wasn't our strongest side, but whatever side, whatever formation, it's the same old story. Needs to improve. I think it will, but we need to be braver on the ball. Take some risks, take a player on, do some quicker and snappier passing.

What drives me mad is when we finally work an opening after endless passes side to side, we then elect to take a long rang when one more pass was needed. Constant wrong options again and again.
        Forwards.......

Someone making a good point, Balotelli is at times holding the ball up very well, but nobody is running past him, which is what he needs to be more effective/productive, and is a lot of what his game is about.

            Sturridge will hopefully rectify this.

What's betting we get Chelsea away.

Two players scored who were new signings in the off season.

                  Splendid summer transfer window!

We were kinda **** really. Dominated possession in the first half but didn't really do much with it. We are just so slow to attack & in possession. Coutinho is a quality player and could be so instrumental if he just sort out his final ball, he makes us tick but just needs to sort out that final pass. Thought Borini,Lucas,Johnson,Manquillo & Coutinho were all good. Lambert & Markovic were pretty ****. Hendo just doesn't look the same player this season.

Great for Mario to get on the scoresheet, was lovely finish too. Lovely header from Lovren too & was great for him to score the winner after the **** up for the first goal. Two unlikely but very welcome scorers. Won the game but was exactly the same performance as we've been giving wall season..apart from that last 10 mins where we went for it. High tempo, pressing & will to win, was a brilliant last 10 mins IMO.

We were pretty decent for much of that game. No luck about it, we might have left it late but we were the better team and deserved the win. Definite signs of improvement. Borini and Balo have to start together until Sturridge is fit.

Markovic played OK in the first half too. Shame he faded in the second, but encouraging signs that he might be starting to find his feet too.

I personally think Sturridge is going to be really frustrated playing alongside Balotelli but I hope I am wrong

I think that sturridge was obviously second fiddle to mario......now he is the main man so hopefully he thrives on that. As long as they are not both greedy cunts then i would hope it works well. For me, Sturridges movement is brilliant....if sterling sturridge and balotelli can link up well and get a good understanding then it has the potential to be deadly...
