We get the ball. We pass the ball side to side at the back until the striker doesn't wanna chase anymore then we lose it somewhere in midfield. We're playing it safe but when we do lose it at the back they're gonna be through on goal.

It's fair enough not to expect SAS genius, but we need to be offering better than championship standard.

True. It's all well and good concentrating on our defence, but it puts even more emphasis on our lone striker to get hold of the ball, hold up play and put in a lot of leg work for little gain. Which, unfortunately, we won't get with Balotelli.

defensively we look okay. i really feel that Coutinho is effective in a deeper position (in place of allen) though with an extra forward on..... Balotelli is about 75% more effective with a proper partner as well up top.....
