Balotelli cannot play in a one up top & Lambert can't play in one up top. Flogging a dead horse persisting with something that has not and will not work unless you have Daniel Sturridge..which we don't.

I don't like Boring at all frankly but the fact is 1 up top isn't working / hasnt worked at all and at the very least he should be trying combinations to see if he strikes luckyOriginally posted by RoboKop View PostBorini plus either Balo or Lambo would tho.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. Lambert looks overawed and such is his want to do well, he's putting too much pressure on himself. He's admitted himself that he has played his best football when relaxed and letting it flow naturally. As for Borini, I just don't think he's that good.Originally posted by RoboKop View PostBorini plus either Balo or Lambo would tho.
Rodgers thinks he can alter Balotelli's game with support from three behind. Unfortunately it's taking longer than he probably anticipated. Possibly from Balotelli's bad habits.

To be honest Mario has looked better even when we've put Lambert up alongside himOriginally posted by danperkins View PostBalotelli cannot play in a one up top & Lambert can't play in one up top. Aye, I had that Freudian autocorrect too.
3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Then it's bad judgement, he's basically sacrificing our hopes for top four the longer this goes on. Borini offers movement and at least some presence in the box, Balotelli is never in the effing box.Originally posted by Muddled View PostLambert looks overawed and such is his want to do well, he's putting too much pressure on himself. Still don't get why he would look to sign a striker to play in a 2. Then sign Mario who is adept at playing in a 2 and then plays him as a lone striker and continues to persist with that system when it's clearly not working and doesn't look likely toOriginally posted by Muddled View PostLambert looks overawed and such is his want to do well, he's putting too much pressure on himself. I refuse to believe that there weren't better options available especially as we had a whole season to sort something out. To say oh well we tried is symptomatic of the small time mentality that has dogged and envoloped our club for far too long.Originally posted by Muddled View PostOther than force a striker to sign, I'm not quite sure what else we could have done.

To be fair the best quality strikers aren't in our budget. Even if there were better options would Brendan have then played them as a lone striker?Originally posted by captainfog View PostI refuse to believe that there weren't better options available especially as we had a whole season to sort something out. That's not true. Balotelli is on what 150.000 a week? We could easily have spent that and maybe more on a big name, signed fewer players but better. we need to shed that small club thinking, stop thinking about sell-on value and think about on the pitch value. We are constantly trying to be too clever for our own good.Originally posted by Venton View PostTo be fair the best quality strikers aren't in our budget. It's not just about quality it's the type of signing as much as anything.Originally posted by Venton View PostTo be fair the best quality strikers aren't in our budget. That's just the way it is.
Why attempt to sign strikers who play as part of pairings and then play them as lone strikers

I think your last sentence is a great description of Brendan. Hits the nail on the headOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostThat's not true. Balotelli is on what 150.000 a week? I am not too worried about how many players we bought most of them look ok or will be ok. My biggest worry is Lovren. It's how you integrate them / introduce them to the team
My major worry is bringing in tons of new players in conjunction with changing the system (which **** up the existing players) and then expecting the new players to play roles they never have before (lonestrikers)
I think he's majorly ****ed it up
It's not beyond being salvaged but it means admitting he's got things wrong and changing back to what worked last seasonBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
