Plenty saying Gerrard has been ****. I'd rather have seen Henderson in than Lucas but it's hardly a disgrace.

Plenty saying Balotelli has been **** so we've giving another striker a chance.

Other than Henderson and Sterling I've got no problem with the selections. But even then it's no where near being a disgrace and who really gives a **** about showing a lack of respect to Real Madrid?

Personally I'd be miffed if I'd have paid to go to Madrid and see us chuck out a lesser team. As it happens, I'm sat at home and as such can see the reasoning.

If it was a case where all those players on the bench were playing fantastic and they were rested for this game.. I would be asking questions. People were asking for borini up top and can in the middle... We've got that. People wanted Gerrard out.. He is. Lucas has looked way off but he is our only out and out DM. We wanted lovren out and he is... Should be funny watching toure though

Allen is there for work rate and ball retention.. Although imo he struggles with a high tempo. Lallana there for work rate and that bit of guile. I get all of the changes apart from markovic. Would love for him to go out there and have a go, he's looked so timid and scared ****less really that I'm surprised Rodgers has selected him in such a high profile game.

If the reason for the players being dropped is poor form then I'd be all for it but its clearly not is it because the lads on the bench played against Newcastle and will again against Chelsea.

Our biggest ****ing game in years. One we've all wanted and been desperate to break back into the top 4 for and we don't even give it a ****ing go. Thats not what I think of when I think of Liverpool Football Club! European nights are what we're famous for.

I feel the same mate. We've worked our bollocks off to get back in the CL to play games like this and he puts a team like that out. We might have Chelsea at the weekend but that's no excuse.

I think he's right doing what he's doing but if he had said they were dropped rather than rested because performances haven't been good enough I think people would get behind that way more than the "rested" approach.

**** lovren and sure stevie couldn't hack the pace of Madrid last time. He was a shadow, and to be fair most midfields struggle against that side. I would have loved to see us go for them but at the same time I can where Rodgers is coming from with the workmanlike team selection.
