Wonder will he go for a 5 man defensive with 3 CB's?

We went toe to toe with them and more than held our own for the first 20 mins of the home leg. If we play with that intensity for 90 minutes then anything could happen. Can we do that though? If we turn up and put in another lackluster nothing of a performance like the Newcastle game then we are going to get humiliated. They are an awesome side. If they hadn't of played the second half at Anfield in second gear we probably would have conceded another 3 or 4 goals.

Its a lethargy and attitude though isn't it. My point is we should show a bit more steel, we are going to war not on holiday.

Ancelloti can say what he wants and love Anfield and Sterling, they beat us easily. We are the ones up against it and need to show some fight, show them that losing to them hurt us, stop going on about how good they are. Show that you are pissed of about it.
Ancelotti's comments were before the game, but yeah whatever. It's nothing, though trawling press conferences or interviews desperate to pick out something to have a go out happens when we arent winning I suppose, I was the same under Hodgson, though didnt have to trawl much.

We haven't played high intensity all season apart from the Spurs game, so we should have energy to burn. If the players can't get fired up for champs league night, playing Madrid at the Bernabeu... well then they should give up. We can't show them too much respect, need to get in their faces & give them a game..regardless if we lose.

'Trawling through press conference or interviews'. How well you know me. I like Rodgers fwiw - but he's not perfect.

Why don't we bring Lucas back into the team. He played well against Swansea and it could allow Gerard to move further up the pitch where he cant leave any centre backs exposed and could get some passes off.

Midfield of Lucas, Allen, Henderson and front three of balotelli with raheem next to him and free role for the skipper.

Exactly right. If we lose 5 nil so long as we fight for every ball...

At least let them know they were in a ****ing game when the 90 mins finishes. This sitting back and playing safe with our calamitous defence will only end up one way. We'll probably lose but lose with a bit of respect. Not like last weeks embarrassment.

                    We're 9/1 to win

I feel like defeat is the biggest certainty in my life as a Liverpool supporter

Might put four hundred on Real. They're 1/4. Easiest ton ever?

If I put £400 on Real we would be absolutely guaranteed, a cast iron guarantee, to get at least a draw.

I'm afraid I can't currently afford to take one for the team

                          Have an est whip round.

At worst the Christmas party kitty will be a ton healthier.

I'd have to agree with that to be honest

I really can't think of a game where I was more certain we'd get hammered than this one. Not even in the Hodgson era (largely as we didn't play teams of this class back then!).

They're not even likely to go easy on us as they will want this group all wrapped up after this one.

I think the best we can hope for us they pity us again and take their foot off the gas.

Give us another pity defeat please Real

I was going to come up with a positive post and say nobody is unbeatable, highlight the fact that they've lost twice in the league this year, and that you never know. However those two losses were back in late August/early September, and they have since won the last 7 league games with an aggregate score of 32:4.

So er, yeah. Not looking forward to this one.
