At work and therefore unable to watch a game--I use a crappy PC and wouldn't dare streaming on this thing. Far too much of a minnow in the workplace! Really encouraged by some of the comments though.

Really, it's a bit embarrassing considering last season we had a team that could have given them a game. Shows how far we've dropped. But we're not the team we were and we've had to change it up.

All things considered it's a good backs to the wall display. But we have been lucky. It could have been more.
You could argue that Real Madrid is even more clinical and destructive this season than they were in the last... having Suarez in the side obviously introduces a veritable wild card but without him there's no guarantee our team from last year would be doing much better than 1-0 down at halftime at the Bernabeu? I dunno. I'm not watching so I can't really judge whether we've been outplayed or not but by the sounds of it people are relatively pleased on the whole...

Overall that is the best we have played for a long time without really creating a chance of having a shot

Runs forward into blind alleys for the most part, difficult to hold it up when you have 2/3 on you and you can't pass it back as the receiver will be under too much pressure. Same for Borini and Lallana.
Markovic doesn't look anything like a winger to me. I'm trying to figure out what his best position is.

he has been our best player tonight, how about giving him a break?

Lallana is slow in possession but he does an awful lot of work in terms of pressing
Lallana is playing like he wants to grab the headlines when attacking but his defensive work clearly shows him to be a team player. He lacks a bit of vision

I think Can will be a big player for us for a long time. Especially when we get 2 up front to aim at.

Our issue tonight was we had to be perfect.

Look at Chelsea. Mourinho hates playing Schurrle because he often goes to sleep as he's a pure attacking player. We don't have enough tactically aware players to be solid all game and that's why we've conceded. But whilst we have players like that on the pitch, they have to offer more going forward if they're to be worth the risk.

IMO Sterling is the best modern attacking player we have, because he's tactically so aware. Reads the game so well, knows when to go forward and hardly ever goes to sleep when the opposition attack. Remember when he first came in the side and had the odd game at RB. Brilliant.

We don't have enough players like Raheem.
                                Forwards.......
