GERRARD'S LIVERPOOL XI link
4-3-3: Pepe Reina; Glen Johnson, John Arne Riise, Sami Hyypia, Jamie Carragher, Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano, Steven Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres
When he was at his peak (before all the coke and cheese burgers had taken their toll ) he was the one of the best finisher I've ever seen. And he was cool as ****

First 4 seasons were just stunning. 100 LFC goals in his first 165 professional games, you really can't overrate that. And yeah, Fowler was the Fonz of 90's football
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
Mine angry and defrauded young?
Yeah, his first few seasons were sensational, but he didn't maintain that over a career. I would never rate him as highly as Suarez or Rush or Dalglish or Barnes or even Torres. I see him up there in top 10's of all time, and I don't think he's as amazing as that. Brilliant yeah just not a top 10 player in Liverpool's history.
There's a lot of romanticising about him, but he's nowhere near my top 2 or 3 forwards for Liverpool.

Nah my point was, of the two peak periods, which both players had and both weren't that long, that Torres was the more brilliant of the two. Other opinions are available obvs, and at no point would I ever say that Fowler wasn't crackin. He just isn't one of my favourite ever players, he's nowhere near!
