i would agree.....but i don't think it will happen unless Johnson or Skrtel or Lovren gets injured.....

Assuming Sturridge is fit to start, I would go for a team of:

but i expect that we will end up seeing Balotelli up top on his own, Sterling and Coutinho supporting him with Gerrard as the holding role.....

The pressure will be immense if we drop points in this game. It is a horrible game to have to play as well.........you can imagine that rat Neil Warnocks team talk being about kicking lumps into Sturridge - so i could understand BR point of view if he wanted to start him on the bench.

If fully fit I'd be looking at getting this side out, 3 of the back 4 is quite a bit to change but I'm so fed up with Johnson, Skrtel & Lovren than I'd be happy to try this instead; if Sakho not ready get Skrtel in instead.

Henderson and Lallana will offer some legs in the middle although I'd like to see Can given a run in the side as well.

I just feel that is the team that can mix it physically with Palace.....they will look to make things as uncomfortable as possible..... also, we would have the likes of Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana and Lambert to come off the bench in the event of a stalemate going into the last ¼ of the game....

Sturridge and one other up top in the diamond formation. Sub him off as soon as the game is won and do that for every game this season until we sign another similar type player.

I'm aware some of that lot have under performed. But I think we need the team who are most used to playing the diamond with Danny. It's how I would have liked to us start the season but we had injuries at difficult times. For me, we need to get everything out of our system and start again. Coutinho in for the home games.

Then as games go on we can look to add the likes of Manquillo, Can, Lallana, Markovic & Lambert. I just feel we need a solid group of players who know the job, with a few changes to keep it fresh.
