With lucas in you would imagine Gerrard would be played further up the pitch, which is good news. At least we have a dedicated DM playing in front of the back line. Lovren out is over due. Moreno was on bench vs palace too so surely he can't be injured?

Disappointed to see Glen Johnson in the match squad - disgusted to see him start.....

Toure - fair play Brendan.

Lucas - fair play Brendan.

Dropping both Lallana and Lovren - fair play Brendan.

Personally i would have preferred to see Borini play. Also would have liked to see Can instead of Allen and perhaps give Sterling a rest.... also, Markovic not even in the squad when we are already missing Sturridge and Balotelli - that is a £20m write-off of Aquilani proportions....

However, if Gerrard is the most advanced of the 4 midfielders, then that is a positive move - one i have been hoping that he would make for a few weeks to be honest.

If we keep a clean sheet and play well defensively, then surely the places of Kolo and Lucas are set in stone - and it is up to others to wait for their chances.

Aye my thoughts too. I can only, as said in build up thread, that he's trying to protect a slightly error prone Moreno. However, I'd be more put off that I wasn't getting a game ahead of that dross.

Yeh it's hard to know unless we know for sure moreno is carrying a knock. But more likely is that Rodgers just wants to play Johnson. Moreno has done ok but will take him a season IMO for us to see the best of him. At least moreno gives effort though.
