Lallana was always top dollar but over his contract we should get enough out of him. Can looks like £10m well spent. Lovren and Markovic is where it went badly wrong. The latter could yet come good. Stop moaning.
They may well all come good. Too early to write them off just yet. They'll got a run out during this busy month and we'll see how they're all doing as we come into January when we could theoretically buy replacements.

But we needed to sign a couple who were going to come in straight away and improve us or at least keep us at the same level. That's where the failure has been. Do our best XI right now and how many of this summers signings get in? I'd wager possibly none if everyone was fit.
    Forwards.......

It's a team that defends, not four players. I think as a team they are a very well drilled side, that do have the occasional off day. In all honesty, I haven't seen any top side simply blow them away, only City, They got smashed by Southampton, but against that lot they set out to win the game, not defend and it on the break.

I remember last season they upset Chelsea & City whilst we struggled to break them down at Anfield with the SAS. This year they drew with Chelsea. They can be very tough to breakdown. Had we gone one nil up they may have fallen apart. But you always need that first goal.

Borini wont score but his movement and running beyond defenders would allow the likes of Sterling and Coutinho to thrive.

Dont see where we are heading long term really.
Waiting for Sturridge to get fit and hope we're still close to the top 4 so we can attract another top striker is where we are heading. In all honesty, I can't see any top striker coming this winter, we just have to hope we make top again and are able to attract one in the summer.

The only wasted money so far, for me, is on Lovren and Balotelli. And I even understand the Balotelli punt to a certain extent. The rest are fine by me. Markovic must have something about him. Lovren is the only categoric disaster and even at that, he works perfectly as a scapegoat so he actually has value for fans.

Yeah I think the two you highlighted are the most disappointing, they were supposed to be first team ready and they haven't proven to have been. Individually as you say the others can all be understood.

I doubt we are signing any forward in winter. And if we play this way every time Sturridge is out, which is quite regular, we are pretty ****ed. He needs a proper plan B, not this dross

In all honesty, if Lovren was playing now with proper protection from Lucas, maybe he wouldn't look as bad.

I think the issue is this team had too much pressure on it from the off and confidence has slowly ebbed away to the point where we were on our knees and just waiting to get humped.

Luckily, Lucas & Toure showed a different way of playing in Madrid and whilst we could have easily have got annihilated, they showed enough to give Rodgers an idea to change it all up. Best to forget all that's happened since Sturridge got injured and just concentrate on our games since Palace away. In that case it's all looking positive. In fact, it's exactly how we started last season. When do we get Suarez back again?

Context is no team rolls over in this league when it's level. You have to win the battles and then hopefully your quality shows through. I think we were 50-50 in terms of the battles today, you'd normally hope that'd allow our superior class to show through, but we are struggling without a top notch striker.

On FIFA 15 or FM2015 I'm sure we'd all have spent the money better, but on those games the players normally don't take too much convincing to sign & don't take too long to settle. In reality it's different.

Clearly Liverpool have found there level, amazingly we couldn't sign a top notch striker in the summer and relied on an injury prone one
