We have looked more solid in recent games with Lucas and Toure in the side, as many people have said the problem is at the other end of the pitch. I don't think a Lambert / Balotelli type player is the answer, but if we are going with someone like that (big and not very mobile) we need to get midfielders a lot closer to them and pick up on the flick ons and knock downs, it's a short term solution but it's not what we are doing at the moment.

The attacking players weren't very good at finding the spaces today. It was painful at times, because Sunderland just kept two banks of four, and watched us. We were static, and to tweak a Rio Ferdinand phrase, not very cute upstairs. More intelligence needed.

If Utd beat Southampton they will go into the game against us 7 points ahead. Lose that and it'll be 10 points behind them. Personally, I think Rodgers is on the brink of being sacked should we go out of the cl next week and lose to utd.

I dont think he will be sacked until the end of the season personally. He can have no complaints if he is sacked though

When you spend £100m you should be challenging for the title according to Brendan. We are barely challenging for 4th. Drew with Sunderland with only 2 shots on target all game. They lost 4-1 the orher day and had Brown and O'Shea in defence. Not good enough

And there is a massive difference in ability, quality and financial commitment between a team whose aim every week is to setup for a draw and hope for 40-50 points and a team going for CL qualification/ honours.

The spend comparison with Sunderland is almost irrelevant.
