Partly the issue is that the best of them have already come through, and we're waiting for the best of the next generation - Sterling is established and is still a young lad really, despite the way we rely on him at times. Ibe got a run but they've decided a loan is the best bet for him. Who else is really knocking on the door like Sterling was? I suppose you could also argue that Manquillo's only a young lad bought as a prospect. Rossiter and others played in the league cup, and a few will probably get a go in the quarter final too.

Up front though I just find it odd that there's been such a gap between us developing competent strikers, after a conveyor belt for years. I suppose Adam Morgan was the big hope and now we're waiting for Sinclair...

I think the issue is do you play a young lad in a struggling team?

The pressure on our players atm to perform & get results is immense. Not sure it's fair to stick a young lad in, especially when there is no stand out talent. I'm sure if we were cruising Ojo would be playing in a dead rubber v Basle and getting a run out or bench duty v Bournemouth. But understandably, that won't be happening.
