If Bournemouth are halfway decent in attack they could score a hatfull against that hodgepodge Liverpool team.

I'm all for Rodgers trying different things but he keeps going completely off the wall with his selections

Basel, United and now Bournemouth... oh dear oh dear

Must've been a mistake as the draw is due after tonight's games.

Brendan seems confused. He used to bang on about us only going three at the back / diamond midfield so we could shoe-horn both Suarez and Sturridge into the side.

Now we're playing three at the back with two inept CBs and a joke figure who has done okay recently, no recognised LWB despite having one on the bench, no strikers in the team and an out and out attacking player in Markovic seemingly having to play as a wing back.
It's gone now...whatever he does now is wrong that's why I, convinced it's only a matter of time.....he's just gambling, hoping that something clicks and works and we get a result

If it was me I'd gone

        Jones

        Skrtel
        Toure
        Sakho

Henderson (or maybe manquillo, a more natural wing back, and move Henderson inside)
        Lucas
        Can
        Moreno

        Lallana
        Borini
        Markovic

Gerrard needs a rest, as does sterling. Especially with arsenal on Sunday. Plus a gerrard and Lucas middle two I just don't think has the legs or bite needed and any team with reasonable pace will just walk through them

Plus can/sakho/Markovic/Lallana/borini all need games and have valid arguments for starting.....sakho for example, the only natural fit for a left sided one of three centre backs, made for the role. Doesn't get a sniff? Can, what's happened there I don't know. For me jury is out on can, purely because I've not seen enough to judge him....and this is the exact sort of game he should be playing in to get the game time and experience. Borini, despite me thinking he I ****e, deserves so,e game time especially considering how bad our strikers are, he can't do no worse and he might give us a bit of movement....then coutinho and lovren have been dreadful in recent weeks and retain their place

It's like he is trying to get sacked or prove a point...."I'm the boss so I'll do what I want"

****in ****e line up in my opinion.....if we win then it will be in spite of the line up

No sign of joe allen and lucas back are the only 2 positives for me...... with the exception of lambert, id have everyone on the bench in the starting line up

              In fact it picks itself....

So were looking at 3 at the back with wing backs.....

Firstly. Centre half....we have four to choose from....one of which is horrendously out of form....plus sakho is the only natural fit for the left sided of a three....so it skrtel/toure/sakho pick themselves. Na well ignore that and not play the natural fit and stick with a shocking lovren

Secondly...wing backs....they need to be energetic, pacy, give us width, reasonable defenders but offer something going forward....in our squad the two obvious candidates are clearly manquillo/Moreno.....two wing backs if I've ever seen one! Neither in haha.

We need strong energetic midfielders....Henderson and can.....na let's go Lucas and gerrard hahaha

Then in attack. We have seriously suffered from a lack of movement plus goals from our strikers.....we have one striker in the squad who hasn't played and at least offers movement, borini....bench hahaha well go with four attacking midfielders and see what happens

Presumably Allen is being rested for arsenal.

You know a manager is done for when supporters start saying before a game that if we win it's in spite of him.

This has to be one of the worst team selection I have ever witnessed. It isn't brave, it's cowardly.

Gerrard and Lucas are one of the worst defensive pairings in both leagues.

And Lallana and Coutinho are one of the worst crab like pairings up front. You don't need to resurrect Paul the Octopus to predict we won't need to miss the end of the Apprentice to watch the semi final draw.

                      Gerrard again.
                      One tit for another.

It does beg the question just how bad does Lovren have to get before he's in danger of being dropped.

Lovren is getting Downing levels of hatred from me now just when I see his name on the teamsheet I can feel my blood pressure rising

It is a crazy line up. I get the feeling that Rodgers is trying to make some sort of point regarding the transfer committee......like when Rafa brought on Aquilani in the last min of the champions league game we were being knocked out of so he would be cup tied in Europe....

He's cutting off his nose to spite his face though.....no recognised striker against lower league opposition......what a clown
