What did Lovren do wrong today then?

All our CB's keep making individual mistakes, if we sold everyone I'd not be bothered. Probably need them to gel though and I think that'd help.

Rodgers said about the defence "it's not about set up and it's not about organisation"

      It really is Brendan.

Asked if he thinks they can make an impression on the top four he replies before the question is finished: "Absolutely."

He expects to have Daniel Sturridge back after the Christmas period. "That will be really exciting for this team. Put him back in and we will be back to that flow in our game and results hopefully."

The 3-4-3 is here to stay, could be this season's diamond.
Think it depends how the transfer window goes to whether or not thus formation stays.

Lucas and Lallana have been the key, glad Brendan has finally seen that they should always be in the first 11. Not sure how if the CB's can adapt to this formation or any formation for that matter. Also i do think Henderson is a bit wasted in that role whereas Markovic seems to be impressing.

We are so much better to watch though & clearly lacking a decent striker that can give us some end product.

No matter who plays for nigh on 2.5 years he's been blaming individual mistakes.

                It really is.

Season always depended on hanging in until the cavalry arrived. I think we've failed in that regard, but win next three and it looks better.

Kudos to Brendan for trying out the 3-4-3 system. As many posters have pointed out get a striker and good goalkeeper and the second half of the season will be more fun. The last two performances have started to remind us of the Liverpool of last season.

As for our lack of defensive solidity, I think Brendan is more comfortable coaching the team to play a high intensity attack by sacrificing defensive solidarity. Get a striker to put the ball into the net, improve the shooting of Sterling, Coutinho and we should see a return to last season's style where we blew teams away in the first 30 minutes.

He got paid thats what he did wrong. He's the worst defender we have had since Phil Babb.

If not Brendan....why did you not recruit top quality CBs?? No matter the reason, he should have fixed it by now. No hiding...

Disappointing result considering how we played. But about fair on the same basis! We are our own worse enemy. Defensive mistakes let us down. As i said in the match thread, if we could finish of some of these chances it would most likely make things a little more easier for us. It was the same against united. Today we had 27 shots with only 10 on target! We missed 17 attempts for whatever reason! Arsenal only had 5 shots with 2 on target. For me this is the most annoying thing. We did play well today, cout & marko the stand out performers. Good pressing & approach play. Maybe having a decent striker would make the difference. Sterling RWB & & Marko/Moreno LWB. But that means some miss out a place in the starting 11. Where would henderson play? Possibly rotate him with Stevie.

                              Sterling Moreno
                              Hendo/Stevie Lucas
                              Cout Lallana
                              SC
Could rotate sterling for either cout/lallana if we play johnson/manqulli as the RWB. Plenty of options but a striker is priority nbr 1!
Get in a defensive coach as minimum brendan!

All managers talk bollocks to hide their weakness. No point in parsing through his statements.

The key is - is the team showing signs of progress on the pitch. In the last two games we have.
