Haha, there was a little baiting there
Brad is strange to watch though and inflicts utter panic in me every time the ball is anywhere near him. He has a strange stretching routine that involves him lying face down on the floor with his legs turned off to one side - never seen anything like it. Brad was really, really indecisive when the ball came to him, seemed to spend a long time deliberating about who he was going to "try" to pass to.
You know, it really was distracting all that shot going on around you. The three lads around me were weighty and kept invading my space when they were slapping each other on the back and hugging each other.
Lallana was ok, but frustrating at times. He just didn't seem to be playing at the same pace as his team mates and needed three touches where one would have done.

Any cunt going to a game and gets his phone out to take pictures more than twice needs a ****ing slap. Personally they should be banned. Banned at grounds, on tubes, on buses, anywhere they annoy other people. Phones that is. Although I would ban many people from public places altogether.Originally posted by Daniel 7 View PostHaha, there was a little baiting there

But...one of the times.
I was sitting there, singing my my head off while the tourist in front of me just sat there taking pics with a big inane grin on his face.
He also had a silly hat on.
I wanted to kill him.I love Sarah

I don't see our defensive frailties as personnel-based, they are systemic in my opinion.
Dalglish, with Steve Clark assisting, had us set up very well defensively with some of the same players and yet we still played good football and carried an attacking threat, even if results hide that what with us having abysmal luck and hitting the post about ten million times that season.
Rogers by contrast seems to be share something of the the same philosophy as Ossie Ardiles at Spurs way back in the 90s. So bringing in new defenders won't necessarily solve the problem, because putting new players into a flawed system will only produce the same results that we've been witnessing since Rogers took charge, with absolutely no indication that he knows how to sort it out. In isolation, when you look at our defensive personnel, they've all played well in the past at different clubs, with us under a different manager, or with their international sides but as soon as Rogers gets near them they're nervous wrecks.
I'm sick hearing Rogers after every game talking about cutting out the mistakes because nothing seems to happen. At least our goalscoring problems and subsequent nosedive in results have finally outed this elephant in the room though.
I know Lovren has been a bag of kittens but he was at least solid last season so will changing him for someone else really give us a different outcome? The whole defence has looked like a collection of ducks in thunder for as long as Rogers has been in charge so like others are pointing out in this thread, it might be just as well to concentrate on the you score three, we'll score four approach.
And with that in mind, the last few games have been encouraging. Poor old Studge is going to be under some pressure to be the saviour when he gets back though, I really hope we sign a decent striker in January. If that happens we can still nick fourth.

Sahko is deceptively a lot better than he appears. He has an awkward passing and tackling technique and a strange touch but more often than not he plays himself out of trouble with incisive passes that set us on the attack.Originally posted by danperkins View PostYeah it seems alot of people are championing Sahko now & I suppose we've been so desperate at the back.. that it's a case of let try anything else.
I personally haven't been convinced by him, but I certainly don't think we'll see the best of him in a 3. He looks slow and cumbersome when pulled out wide, same as Toure. Not their fault though as not their natural game. Was saying earlier that I think that all of the back 3 would be much happier and better suited playing in a CB pairing. The system does allow for very progressive football, which is great. But we are always going to be vulnerable, especially the personnel we have in our back 3. Skrtel as a lone CB and a leader i don't have confidence in. But sure we can only use the players we have at the moment in this new system.
It's not natural to them & none of our CB are really comfortable in possession like say... Agger was. Maybe they'll improve when they get used to the new system but IMO the only fix is new blood. If Rodgers is going to play that system which we have looked better in to be fair to him, i would like to see Moreno at left fullback and Markovic at right full back.
I'd love if we had someone like Lichtsteiner in at RCB, perfect player for that role.
He's a very effective player, he just doesn't look convincing doing it.

Watch the replay & I think you'll agree that Lallana was better than just ok & Jones appeared assured to me. One time he raced off his line to clear the ball from around the 18yd box that Mig wouldn't have moved for. I honestly felt more comfortable watching him than I have watching Mig for a long time. He could have done better for there 2nd goal I suppose but keepers spread themselves to be a bigger target & he's unlucky it went between his legs.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
