Don't agree with Gerrard coming straight back in and Manquillo getting dropped, the midfield functioned perfectly and Henderson looked a different player in the centre.

Me neither but it was obvious to me Manquillo was the easy target. He's been in and out of the team and didn't put a foot wrong yesterday as usual, but gets dropped just so we can shoehorn Gerrard back in the team

I don't think it's a question of players being dropped more a case of squad rotation having to play games so close together.

Manquillo hasn't played much football. He's been in and out of the team so he hardly needs resting.

It's not always a question of being tired or needing rest but having time to prepare tactically etc for the game.

Henderson played significantly better in the middle. I'd rather have him fight it out with Gerrard for his position and play a proper wingback when Rodgers wants to play Gerrard.

Agreed. Not gonna see my arse about Gerrard playing but I'd rather we left him on the bench, or more specifically I'd rather we left Henderson in the middle with a proper wing back.

Agree with the consensus - Henderson should be in midfield with Manquillo at RWB and Gerrard on the bench.

If we struggle in this game with the changes he's made the pressure will mount on Brendan to rest Stevie more often as we were pretty darn good against Swansea without him.

I know their is a lot of negativity about Gerrard these days. Personally I've no issue with seeing him on the field as long as he's in the position he's good at and it's not screwing around with other players or formations that don't work for the team.

I'd rather see him play 60 minutes and be subbed and then on the bench and play the last 20 minutes etc depending on the opposition and his form and fitness compared with Henderson.

Rodgers seems to have found a formation that works for us this season but it doesn't work as well with Henderson as the wingback.

It's Lucas or Allen and Gerrard or Henderson in the middle for me.

When Sturridge is back Sterling will need to fight with Coutinho and Lallana but he could also play wingback as can Markovic as backups for Moreno and Manquillo.

Thank **** Lovren hasn't been playing. Can is the first centre back on the team sheet every week for me followed by Skittles, Sakho and Toure.

We need a new keeper and a £50m striker for our next buys, whether that will be in January or the summer we will have to wait and see.
