I would have played Gerrard in place of either lallana or Coutinho - depending on who needs a rest more. For me, Henderson and Lucas looked brilliant together and should have more time to build on that partnership.

Really wouldn't change a winning Team apart from enforced changes.

Our 1.1. games usually go well, if I remember correctly?

Does anyone remember Peter Crouch's overhead kick (vs. Bolton?) years back, when it was the first goal scored in the new year?

Didn't realise that was New Years Day.

Some goal! Remember him doing the same not long after in Europe?

You're being ridiculous in all honesty.

The teams that keep the squad fresh over Xmas are the ones that do well. And not only in the short term, but long term as well. Gerrard is one of our better players still, why wouldn't we play him after he's had a rest and give someone else a break?

With the way we press, and with Leicester having a days extra rest, and them being a team like Burnley that run everything down, IMO we can't afford not to freshen up the team. If we get on top early and keep our heads we could hammer these today. But it could also end up being a very difficult game.

Leicester will chase everything and will be right up in our faces today. As seen against MUFC they will battle hard against the big boys and they'd love to cause an upset today. I feel with their higher energy levels we'll be up against it today. This is not a game where we can start slow. If we come out lethargic they'll sense it and we will have a real tough afternoon.

Difficult one for Rodgers. If we win everyone just carries on. If we lose, it's because we changed a winning team. But personally, I think we'd be in real trouble with an unchanged side.

                Here's what I would do -

                Markovic on for Lallana
                Toure for Skrtl
                Rossiter for Lucas
                Was muß, das muß.

We've been in a difficult period, I never think that's the right time to play youngsters unless they're exceptional. I'd always have one on the bench though, bring them on if we've got the upper hand. Against Swansea we finished on cruise control. I'd rather Rossiter or Ojo played the last few minutes than Borini.

Just when Brendan was starting to come good again he plays a stupid team.

Our best performance of the season was against Swansea, he should have kept the same line up.

Oh well we'll just have to see what happens. Hopefully it is a similar performance to Monday.

And we beat them 3-1 at their place when we were still ****.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
