True, but I also think Suarez, Sturridge and Suarez papered over the weaknesses of the position last season. So a bit of both imo. I just think centre mid has been a glaring weakness for quite a while.

Yes, that is an issue but that can be sorted with personnel already at the club. We need a proper striker though as Sterling isn't a striker, Sturridge is always injured, Borini, Balotelli and Lambert are useless.

Its pretty poor, and Rodgers got it wrong yet again. It keeps on happening. How can everyone but him see it. Its like he is determined to prove everyone wrong. Big fan of his, loved last season, but he is really starting to boil my piss now.
At the end we created 3-4 chances we should or could have done better from. It was a drab game in the first half, but when you play so many games with little rest - that is exactly what you get. I agree he got it wrong, IMO Lucas has played too many games in a short period and he looked gone. Henderson should have gone central with Gerrard.

Probably not, but the position also needs a healthy upgrade IMO.

I agree, but Sterling up front is out of necessity because of lack of options. If the team played extremely well just two days ago without Gerrard why squeeze him in?

Well yes it can tbh. I knew we'd have a tough game today for reasons I've already expressed. Gerrard has nothing to do with why we lost, he didn't have a poor game IMO. What we lacked was energy on the pitch and after they got level I really worried as I didn't think we had any legs in the team by that point.

It was a fantastic effort from the players in the last ten minutes to try and find a goal but it wasn't to be. Two mad minutes cost us and that's the story of this game, but happens to often.

Yep, they paper cracks with points, we've got to get one in January, preferably one who's eligible for the Europa.

Lucas was really poor today too, Henderson should've kept his place in midfield.

Because the team looked tired enough as it was. Making no changes would have been crazy.

But just as crazy I thought was keeping Lucas in. Should have been a straight swap of Gerrard for Lucas. They are no good together even with a weeks rest.

but it was down to tiredness as opposed to being poor.

Lost a two goal lead is what I meant, though it feels like a defeat!

OK, I see the point about resting. But Lucas and Henderson were on the pitch anyway so if he's going to play them again then let them play the same role as last time.
