Happy with the win. With a good striker we'd have destroyed them.

Markovic as a winger is class, shouldn't have moved him central

No gaffs from Brendan there in the post match........pleasant change.

Apart from the peno claim - "yeah, looked a clear peno, even from my position from the dugout.....Fabio got his heel clipped".

        Wasn't that clear then.

Probably not, but we won't see another summer like that. I think from now on it will just be adding 2-3 players we have to the group we have now. It looks to be the same we see with Dortmund at the moment. We saw it with Tottenham too...a massive overhaul of a team is going to cause a period of uncertainty and getting to know each other.

We should have been out of sight by half time, at least 3 up, as we were good first half (and Sunderland were terrible). Second half we just didn't get started. But I guess a win is a win and we have to take them as they come. Also a clean sheet, although that said Sunderland rarely threatened and we did manage to look shaky at times.

I thought Markovic had a great first half and was man of the match, despite the criticism he got I think Borini's style of play more suited the game we want to play than Balotelli did (or Lambert would have).

The biggest issue I have is that I don't think we know our best team, our best system or where people should play, it's very much a square pegs in round holes feel about this side. Markovic was MOTM playing in a RWB role which isn't really his position, Can has done well at CB but again that isn't really his position. I think that the suspect defence means that we need to play 3 CBs and while Moreno is more of a WB than a LB I don't think that is our long term system and we don't have a right WB (the best option would have been Johnson at his peak, but that has well passed). We don't have a striker worthy of the name, and we look like wanting to get rid of some of our better centre mids. We need to figure stuff out.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Yeah, and to be fair Spurs brought theirs on themselves whereas we've had a number of aging players that needed replacing (GJ, DA, SG) on top of losing Sturridge and Suarez. Maybe I am being harsh on us

Rossiter and Moreno with their Gerrard impressions.

I was really impressed with our pressing today. You could see the players knew when the triggers were, as they instantly moved to press the players and space.

We had a good game against Swansea and ballsed it up against Leicester. Need to dispatch Villa now for consistent league form.

No Gerrard. Rightly ostracised from the group.

(Or the one taking the photo)

Skrtel and Borini look photo shopped in.

We were horrible in the second half. Can't comment on the first because I missed most of it.

                              Still, wins a win

We were excellent first half. One of the best halves I've seen from any team this season in terms of workrate, closing down and team ethic.
