Just saw MOTD highlights, & while taking a corner he 'shrugged' his arms. I took it as a lack of attacking corner set piece routine. Maybe just a one off. Maybe just reading too much into it. Maybe our players couldnt get into position quick enough because of how villa defended. But did anybody else pick up on that & what did you make of it?

Can, Sakho and Skrtel played very well, Mignolet even resembled a functioning goalkeeper. Good professional performance against a very **** team, midweek will be a real test of how much we have progressed

Hold on. We did okay.

But where was Mignolet when Baker should have scored from a corner? Where was Can as the ball sailed over his head at the back post, not the first time either, when Benteke misjudged and Baker again was too slow to react. What was Lucas doing as he allowed that new lad to almost just walk past him and almost get in on goal after a one two?

I'm being harsh. They all had fantastic moments aside from that. But better teams kill you for lapses like that. We miss too many clear cut chances and we give too many of them away at our end. Still far from good enough. But much better than it was.

No one said we were perfect but we played well enough. Those individuals & every other player for that matter will always make a mistake or two so just accept it. Even Barca & Bayern concede goals you know.

Really happy with this win. Lucas jumping into the crowd was my fave moment of the game. No way doeshe ever want to leave us. Needs a rest in the cup game though.

Lucas & Henderson are great together in the midfield and both are less inhibited when Gerrard is not playing.
