Missing out on Tinie Tempah would have been a cruel blow. Pretty unprofessional from Rodgers IMO. You don't make promises like that and not follow through on them. Poor man management.

I'm not sure why but I find the Carroll interview hilarious. I love the idea of our manager inviting him on a date and ditching him for somebody else. And the 'you're going to start', 'you'll be on the bench', 'you're not in the squad, get the **** out of the club' play, genius.

It is pretty surreal as an interview about football. Effective or not Rodgers does often come across as a bit of a ****. Not sure that you can fully believe Carroll's account but even if just the general tenor is correct it is a pretty weird interaction.

Seem to remember Rodgers being very blunt about Carroll around the time Carroll was loaned out to West Ham.



I can remember him saying that Carroll was a cover player or squad player and that Liverpool were not in the position to have a £35m player as a third or fourth choice striker.


Pretty sure that Carroll gave an interview around the time that West Ham bought him saying that Rodgers had been up front in saying that Carroll was not part of his plans.


Is probably just a case that Carroll did not get his carrots before giving his recent interview and was just a bit off.

But looking at who we had when we sold Carroll, there was no way a limited guy like him was going to get in the team ahead of Suarez or Sturridge.


Never understood the hype about Carroll. His career to date shows him to be an injury prone and very average striker.

He has not had a season where he stayed fit for most of it as well as scoring goals on a consistent basis since he did so for Newcastle in the Championship.
