Really need to protect Can, Sakho, Lucas, Coutinho and Sterling this month. Losing to Bolton will not be anywhere as bad as dropping vital league points.

Not only is there the huge risk that they'll be dreadfull but they could also have an adverse effect on Skrtel and Mig who are both starting to rebuild form and confidence.

taking lucas out would take away the protection that has allowed the defence to cope recently. if that defence then includes lovren and johnson then poor skrtel will be ran ragged covering for the other headless chickens.

I agree, but tough ****. Lucas needs a break. I think we should ask Allen to be disciplined and hold. If he's not capable of it then give Rossiter a go. Lucas definitely needs a break.

We need to prioritise the league so I'd change what we can,

Mig - Manquillo, Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren, Enrique - Allen, Henderson - Gerrard, Lallana - Borini

However I feel that Gerrard will be rested and given a start against Everton, his last derby. Give Sturridge 30 minutes and a start against Everton. I'd be tempted to play Can in midfield and give Hendo a rest as well.

You rest them now or you rest them against Everton or Spurs. To expect the same players to play each game is ridiculous tbh. I'd rather take our chances against a Championship club than risk it against our biggest rivals or a team fighting us for top 4.

We have a big squad this season, and whilst certain players are proving irreplaceable, we still need to do just that every once in a while. Constantly playing the same XI would see us hit the wall at some point, be that a games time or a couple of months time. There are no easy games where we can pick and choose so much now, we need to be clever and a cup replay I'm afraid is one where others need to step in.
