What a ****e game that was. We played well but it just didn't live up to a Derby game.

This for me is the downside to 3 at the back. It can be too defensive. Its just defenders knocking it between themselves. Henderson was very subdued, Gerrard should have been the one for Lucas. Sakho gave his knockers every reason to knock one out. We are very predictable at times. We are too arsenal. Too intricate. Too complicated. But it was a derby game, an away game and another clean sheet. It was dull as ****. No atmosphere, no passion. Needed a good clattering tackle early doors. Ibe looks good. Must beat spurs now.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Let's be honest, who had a bad game? I can't think of anyone. Everyone ticked a steady6 or so. We were the most progressive team and the only one who seemed to want to win aside from the last five mins when they brought on Barkley.
They were set up to nullify us and it worked. But for a team like Everton at home, that's poor. Never looked like trying to win it or take gambles. I think as the away side we can't be blamed for what was a very abject game.Forwards.......

They doOriginally posted by ChesterDave View PostI'm sure Martinez was wearing a ladies coat.
Everton fans get very angry when throw ins go against them.
We put in an acceptable performance but I was fearing 0-0 once it got to about 70 minutes didn't look like we would score.

I'll tell you what today's game was like, was like watching a bottom club at Anfield battling for a point. Only difference was that being the away side too a rival, we never gambled on going balls out for the win, like we would at home against a ****e side.
Tbh, I can't really blame anything on anyone. And trust me, after such a ****e game I really want to.Forwards.......

It's a local derby away from home. A draw is never going to be the worst result, regardless of league positions. We roll on unbeaten, with another clean sheet. It's not all doom and gloom.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIgnoring the match itself, we really needed those two points. If we're going to overtake and outperform arsenal and spurs we can't really afford draws against bottom half teams.Forwards.......

That would be fantasticLiverpool captain Steven Gerrard, speaking to Sky Sports: "Both sides cancelled each other out first. We were looking for that spark but it never came and both defences were on top. Jordon Ibe was fantastic and he only found out he was playing yesterday. He was man of the match, it was a sensational performance from him and he's got a big future.
"We can't have too many complaints. I love playing here, Goodison Park is a great stadium and I have some wonderful memories here. I will miss the Merseyside derby but maybe there's one more left in the Europa League."
