to be fair to the team, Everton were set up to contain rather than play and did a really good job of cutting the out ball from the back. Usually Lucas will force play with a quick incisive pass to break the lines, but Allen just didnt offer the same impetus forward.
Too many safe performances though apart from Ibe and Can.
Everton fans should be the ones pissed off though, with that kind of performance at home - they had no ambition or invention at all.

Its all about fatigue management this month. Coutinho and specially Henderson offensively were way below par. Missed Lucas' probing passes as Allen though good defensively made us sterile.
No surprise about how good Ibe was. Hopefully he'll get me an additional 3 bonus points in FF. I'm still not impressed by Moreno though. But he has loads of time on his side.
Beating Spurs will make this a great one point. One tit for another.

We've all seen games like that go against us. We stood firm, but we missed the forward thinking of Lucas, and it was clear that they'd realised that crowding Coutinho and kicking Sterling was the way to stifle us. sakho looked nervous and I think it was because Lucas wasn't there and allen was

Stop talking sense. Heads must roll.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostLet's be honest, who had a bad game? I can't think of anyone. Everyone ticked a steady6 or so. We were the most progressive team and the only one who seemed to want to win aside from the last five mins when they brought on Barkley.
They were set up to nullify us and it worked. But for a team like Everton at home, that's poor. Never looked like trying to win it or take gambles. I think as the away side we can't be blamed for what was a very abject game.

I'm not, we weren't getting anywhere because they set up to stop us and nought else. Rodgers hoped a bit of brawn would do it and at the least keep a point. I reiterate, it was Everton who made it a dour game. That was small time from them today tbh, and I tend to stay away from all the histrionics.Originally posted by ronanm View Post2 points dropped. Baffled by Rodgers subs but anyway..Forwards.......
