Seeing that Sterlo had a knock & missed out midweek I doubt that Brendan with start him. Gerrard is looking knackered so he'll get a rest I think. Allen will probably play. Lovren to play with Skrtel & Sakho at the back with Can at DM.

not so sure that Sturridge will start the game. On the one hand he needs game time, but on the other hand, we don't want to fla him out just after coming back from 5 months out....

I think with the injury situation we have at the moment, there might be a temptation to tweak the formation a little. A couple of points though:

1. I'm not so sure that changing the defense would be the best idea. After conceeding 2 goals against Spurs, i think we need to get back to basics and start getting clean sheets again....

2. I wouldnt rest Henderson (unless maybe taking him off if we were a couple of goals to the good in the 2nd half). Why? Because Allen and Gerrard were diabolical against Bolton. Palace are better than Bolton and I think if it was Emre Can partnering Allen in midfield, it could be detrimental to Emre Can and fock with his confidence and form.

With this in mind I wouldnt mind seeing a line up of:

We have Besiktas in the Europa on thursday so I wouldn't risk anyone who's 50/50, IMO we need to give minutes to some of Johnson/Lovren/Manquillo/Enrique/Balotelli/Lallana etc. because we're likely to need them at some point over the next few weeks due to injuries and fixtures.

Taking injuries into account, I reckon Rodgers will go as strong as possible for this one. Massive game.
