I'm hopeful we'll put a challenge out there but it's hard to see us winning it tbh.
I know its never a popular opinion on here, and specially on Redcafe, but all City need to walk the league next season over Mourinho is.....sign Brendan Rodgers.

There I said it. No doubt it will be poo pooed by all and sundry and I'm glad because it means we keep him for longer. As for winning the league with us, if we get the right players we'll have an outside chance.

If he fancies the move I'd not be surprised to see Simeone at City next season.

Yeah you can just see that's the next logical progression for both club and manager.

It wouldn't surprise me if we won the league next year.

Anything can happen, what is in our favour is the incredible potential of our players, if Can, Coutinho, Sterling, Markovic, Moreno and Origi progress like we hope we'll have a core of top quality players, I'd argue we could get three or four world class players from that lot. Add Sturridge, Henderson and Sakho to the mix and if we're managed correctly the team could be on the cusp of something exciting.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We'd need an incredible summer of signing two or three top class players that slotted seamlessly into the first team to have a chance of dislodging Chelsea and City from the top.

I disagree. We need a top class striker only because of Sturridges injury record. Otherwise we have plenty already.

We have 3 or 4 players with the potential to be world class. 3 of them ready to reach that next season.

                  You need workers as well

We have much larger margin for improvement then City and Chelsea IMO, four-six players and we're good to go, it would be difficult next season, but a challenge for third and the title after that should be doable.

I think that without the Gerrard situation Brendan will be free to do what he pleases with the team. Looking at our squad I think we have many strengths but also good opportunities to improve.

By upgrading Gerrard, Borini, Lambert, Jones and Johnson we'll be looking a whole different proposition. We have good attacking players who can play all over the field. Origi will hopefully be an upgrade on Borini and maybe Ings for Lambert? Pjanic or another top quality midfielder for Gerrard and hopefully a cover for Lucas. Jones should be easy to upgrade on but we'd preferable need a good right back who can play right wing.

In: Origi, Pjanic, Ings, GK, FBR, DM = 60-70 million.

OK, that's six players, maybe too much in window, but Origi is paid for already. Our challenge will be to offload the deadwood, like every other summer Just one point, there is no point in even trying to buy british (Ings excepted) after the new TV deal, hope we won't try it.
Defo replace Drogba probably with a £50m striker plus who knows who elase. It's an open door policy down there so I've no idea what the special one will do. But buy he will.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

He doesn't apparently. Wants to stay at Atletico for the long term, but will consider Inter in the future. No interest whatsoever in the Prem.

The issue Manchester City have is with the age of their squad. They bought with immediate success in mind and as such, are going to have to spend big again. Maybe they will get a manager in with a long-term vision in mind, but it's only recently Chelsea have started to address the balance of buying players in their peak and keeping an eye on youth.

Money talks and people change their minds but good on him for wanting to stay at Atletico tbh he's done a fantastic job with them so far in a league that is set up to be won by one of two clubs every season. He must be the first guy to have taken the league from either Barca or Madrid since Rafa at Valencia.

I really hope for our chances next season we concentrate on quality over quantity now, the squad is good in depth on the whole and probably the best I can remember it for quite some time but we do need to try and some genuine star quality still which is hopefully what we concentrate on this Summer.

As it stands we are nowhere near a title challenge yet. Getting into the champs league next season is going to be difficult.. do that and then see how we go.
Unless Chelsea and City buy messi and ronaldo each, they don't have much room for improvement.

If we buy a reliable, quality striker we will be much stronger.

I think we will challenge next season, and I'm not one for confidence when it comes to LFC predictions.
