    Effectiveness

Thought this warranted a new thread, goals and assists per minute this season by @BassTunedToRed

Minutes per goal or assist this season
    Sturridge 125
    Lallana 198
    Sterling 202
    Gerrard 246
    Henderson 247
    Coutinho 323

You know all that abuse I get on here for saying Lallana should start ahead of Gerrard and that Coutinho (mostly) flatters to deceive?

This includes dead balls /set pieces.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

No arguments with sticking up for Lallana. Seen him getting pelters from some of our fans on Twitter in recent weeks. I don't get it. He's a class act. Missed pre-season, has had a couple of badly-timed injuries and he's still producing when given a chance. He'll be better next season if he can stay fit. He scores and makes goals and is definitely good enough for us. Cost a bit too much but that's not his fault.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I think that Lallana deserves a chance, he's put in some decent performances and has been effective much of the time.

I think that the issue with the stats are that they are somewhat complicated, the likes of Sturridge and Lallana have been injured and have come back into the team when it has been playing well. Coutinho, Sterling and Henderson have played through the more difficult periods where we were struggling to score goals so their stats reflect that somewhat.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

        i like lallana.
he is a classy player, skilful, but lightweight. is never going to go in for a 50/50 tackle.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Lallana has been off form lately, but before that he'd been our best player. I've never given him stick, I don't think saying someone isn't playing well is a dig at a player, but overall he's been good with very good moments.

The worst thing I an say about Lallana is that I haven't made my mind up about him yet - sometimes he looks a brilliant squad signing, he has a goal in him and a decent shot (not really arsed about prices, its the market), but sometimes he looks ponderous, off the pace and indecisive. Loves a Cruyff turn though, doesn't he?
