12 games to get 2 more points than Southampton and 3 more than Man Utd! Not bad at all, might aswell say we are level with Utd as we will batter them at Anfield.

A clean sheet and a win in a must-win game. Great stuff.

We were made to work hard for it and the way Southampton pushed on as they knew we didn't have the long, high ball in us was impressive. What was more impressive was our shape. It was touch and go at times, but we are getting so much better in possession and our ability to break in numbers is superb.

When it clicks we're going to school someone.
That's the big thing. This was a really difficult fixture

Koeman reminds me of Benny Hill for some reason.
        Oh I don't know.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Feels so good to have finally made up ground on teams above us. For as good as we've been playing and the form we've been in to still be 7th is a bit shocking really. Made sweeter by the fact we had the toughest fixture.

Obviously we'll want to beat City next week but I'd have taken 4 points from the 2 games before today so I'll find it hard to be disappointed if we draw.

@Foresterbloke.. Clyne would be great for us and this system, Johnson out and him in gives us so many options. Markovic works tirelessly and he played in a much more advanced role than Moreno, no shame in coming off for tactical reasons.

A ****ing peach of an away performance against a team that has been top 4 most of the season.

5 away games in the PL without conceding

Coutinho was hobbling off at the end of the game. He wont travel to Besiktas to make sure he is fit for Citeh

                      Skrtel.....Outstanding

I thought we were excellent. Very organised and disciplined defensively. When we did attack we attempted riskier passes than normal with fewer players joining the attack than what we are used to seeing. I think if you play like that you're bound to have less success on average but to me at least it looked like a tactic to restrict their counter attacks. Not to say we didn't ride our luck but after playing on Thursday it was an impressive result. We're grinding out results

Walk in the park that. Our keeper made a few great saves, we could have conceded 2 or 3 penalties and we were an inch away from having our keeper sent off, but apart from that they had nothing.

It's great to be winning again, two vital wins against our rivals for a top four spot. The game against City is huge, we need to maintain this momentum now until the end of the season. I'm confident we can finish above United and the other teams aiming for fourth spot. Massive credit to Rodgers for turning things round after such a poor start to the season.

                              Winning ugly

We improved a bit in the 2nd half but it wasn't a fluid performance. Considering the conditions and some piss poor defending in front of him I though Mignolet was outstanding.

I think when Sakho is back we should put him and Toure either side of Skrtel and move Can alongside Henderson in midfield. We need more of a physical presence there.
