Just back from the game. Unreal performance and a fantastic result.....

Coutinho and Hendo were awesome today but you know what, Joe Allenw was a class act today as well....he really kept it ticking over and played brilliant.

A win at home to burnley and we can go into our cup match with real confidence. Hope to **** Newcastle get points of man united during the week.....really looking forward to playing them in a few weeks time....

Pellegrini could be getting found out here. He used that system against Barca and they got munted. Clearly Rodgers and staff studied that and set out to do what Barca did and exploit that midfield space. Yaya had a shocker, Aguero was brilliantly restricted to very little and that is how you respond to a limp exit from Europe. Got to give Lovren some credit to start that game after botching the pen, confidence could have been non existent, but fair play.

I was shocked how much space City gave away in front of their back four

Coutinho & Lallana were finding pockets behind Fernandinho and Yaya all day long

They really didnt work hard out of possession they looked static

Hard to see how Gerrard could get a place in this team when he is fit again such have been the performances of those that have stepped into the midfield roles.

He doesn't fit the style, but he does have that quality on the ball and the composure others lack sometimes. I think prior to his injury he was being handled well by Rodgers.
