I genuinely cant see how anyone thinks we'll still finish in the top three. Bizarre.

While I agree that currently we are the 4th best side I do think there is a lot of improvement possible in our team this year - for a start we have Agger, Gonzalez and Pennant who could all prove to be improvements to the team. We also have at least two key players in terrible form - namely Carra and Gerrard.

If we beat Arsenal at home then I think we will have a genuine chance of catching them. I also think that the Mancs will have a dip over Christmas as they have a thin squad and some of their older/most injury prone players have been key to their performance this season. I think they are too far ahead of us now to think we can catch them but I really feel we will be a lot closer at the end of the season than we are now.

In a way I think it is good that we are starting to take some of the pressure off ourselves my aiming for 4th. It always has to be our first target and with all the changes in the squad i think that the pressure of trying to mount a title challenge this year has counted against us. We need to relax a bit and start playing with more freedom. I genuinely think that we have a better squad than last year and it is a matter of blending the new players in and evolving our style to be more attacking as the season progresses.
