ASTON VILLA DEFENDER Ciaran Clark will miss Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Liverpool while there are genuine fears that he may not play again this season.

The Republic of Ireland international damaged his medial ligament against Tottenham last week and the injury could derail the rest of his campaign.

The 25 year-old was forced off after just 18 minutes of the 1-0 win.

Should Clark fail to return to full fitness before the end of the season, he may be forced to miss out on his country’s next Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland on June 13th.

Two days before, Martin O’Neill’s side take on England in an international friendly.

Clark has come in for some fulsome praise from Villa boss Tim Sherwood for his performances this term, in spite of being part of an ever-changing defensive unit.

    Speaking last month, Sherwood said:

It’s not easy when your partner keeps changing – we’ve had injuries there. But Ciaran has always maintained his consistency. That’s important for a defender. He’s responsible and reliable.”

There was better news for another Irish international with Sherwood confirming that Shay Given will start at Wembley this weekend.
That rug really tied the room together.

They always seem to raise their game against us but I think we'll leave with victory.

A ****ing pasting would be nice of course.

Will a draw result in ET or a replay?

Don't think anyone thinks it'll be straightforward. They have a good record against us and Benteke in form will give us plenty of trouble. Hope we can do it, need a day out for a cup final. I've seen far too much talk of winning the thing from the LFC camp in the lead up to this though, maybe it's just me but all that ****e should be parked until you're actually in the final.

It's not going to be straightforward. They're on a roll and we beat Newcastle. That's at least plus 5 for them.

I think it will be straight forward in that I think we'll dominate and get the win.
                        Forwards.......

I know Benteke is the main threat, but I'm glad Agbonlahor is out. F*cker always seems to do well against us.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Not been on the site for weeks, tell me I've missed something!

I'm worried about this game, media all hyping up Coutinho and we all still think we play tika taka football but where are the goals? When was the last time we scored 3 in a game?

Our defense looked like it had been sorted until a few weeks ago and now it looks like the same **** we had to put up with last year.

Sherwood seems to have turned Villa around. They should be canon fodder for us but we haven't made anything easy this year. Even on our good run from the New Year nothing ever seemed comfortable and easy to me because of the lack of goals.

I hope this post guarantees us a 4-0 win on Sunday [emoji460]️[emoji460]️[emoji460]️[emoji460]️[emoji471]

I'm going to this. Looking forward to a comfortable victory especially if true all these are out:

                              Guzan, Clark, Sanchez, Agbonlahor

Gerrard would not get into one of the central midfield berths nowadays, but might he be good for the right wing back position? Or maybe pushed up close to the 'offensive' (ugh) players?
