Rodgers - Should He Stay Or Should He Go?

Should he stay or should he go now...

This thread can only go well, it's going to cover to bases really 1) Do people want Rodgers sacked? 2) Do people think FSG will sack him.

I want to get a general feeling of how people are feeling towards this. As you can see above there is a Poll for the wonderful members of EST to give your opinions!

For some background information here are Kenny and Rafa's last seasons in charge

    Rafa
    Finished 7th - W18 D9 L11 - +26 GD - 63 Points

    Kenny
    Finished 8th - W14 D10 L14 - +7GD - 52 Points*
    *Won League cup.

    1. There's already a Brendan Rodgers firefight going on in his thread.
    2. I cannot see any poll there at the moment.

Sloppy thread from beginning to end. Sort of like a non-Muddled Other Games thread in the General Football thread.

There's a poll there don't know what you're talking about.

Took a few seconds to get the Poll questions right...

Plus I've mentioned Rafa, that can only cause level headed debate.

Dunno........I think people need to leave aside the cluster**** of a season aside for a moment, and all the talk of what was spent etc etc, and just ask themselves, do they honestly think Brendan is capable of consistently keeping us competitive enough to offer top 4 football under the current spending system of the club, or is he just offering the sort of performance most coaches would with the current setup and investment.

I think there's been reason enough to question his forward planning, and ultimate endgame with some of his managerial decisions, and he has made a rod for his back to a certain degree with some of his approach in how best to achieve whatever his vision of this Liverpool side should be.
That said, we saw how important he was last season and showed a bravery and trust in our attacking nature, albeit seriously bulked up by the presence of a truly world class star.
Conversely, with foreknowledge of Suarez' exit, we planned poorly, and executed horrendously in the transfer market with all hopes placed on a sick note striker........some purchases and fees were unforgivable, given the the rediscovered position we found ourselves in after our excellent season.
CL football.....tipped for the title in some quarters (unrealistic IMO, but certainly Top 4), and we've regressed horrendously, with a squad seemingly all over the place both in talent, desire and tactical acumen, culminating recently with one of the worst Cup Semi-Final performances in many a year.

It is possible that a rot has set in, very quickly.

I've voted for 'I Dont Want Him To Be Sacked And I Dont Think FSG Will Sack Him'

We'll know for sure next season if these unbeaten runs and flowing football are the real Rodgers or not. If it's another **** start to the season, he'll be gone.

I have a feeling that we'll sign a striker, two midfielders and two defenders and get our **** together. We also have some new talent coming back such as Wisdom, Ilori, Wilson, Sinclair and Ibe.

We'll be saying goodbye to Lovren, Johnson, Toure, Balotelli, Borini and Gerrard.

I don't want him sacked and I don't think FSG will sack him.

However, I do have concerns. In his third year, I think the squad should be almost as Rodgers intended but it still feels like we're a number of players away from a solid first team.

2012/13 was as expected, 2013/14 was above expectations and this season has fallen away from expectation. The loss of Suarez has to be accounted for as I think we would have pushed on from the 2014/15 season.

Rodgers has built three teams. One around his favoured 4-3-3, one around Suarez and another around Coutinho. He needs to stick with the latter and it makes this summer is a very important one. FSG will surely be challenged on their recruitment policy and we have to complement our youthful side with two or three peak signings - not cheap, elderly squaddies. If Rodgers can get his summer acquisitions right, he can settle on a formation that suits the players he has purchased, I think we will get to see the true Rodgers.

If that falls short in 2015/16, then I think it could be time.

                        Agreed Muddled.

We need to buy players which means (unless real bad luck strikes) that players like Henderson are never played out of position.
