      I agree.

Because if we won yesterday United probably go into today's game more highly motivated to win. Still, as least it means we can go into the Hull game with a bit of intent. If we win that questions will be started to ask of Uniteds position in the top 4.

And a drubbing at Goodison may knock their confidence now.
      Forwards.......

Points & goal difference means we still need United to drop 5 points whilst we win every game, which includes Chelsea away.
Yep you can be guaranteed they wouldn't have turned up today if we could have benefitted from them beating United. The mongrels.

If we'd beaten Utd home and away (instead of them beating us), we'd be sitting in fourth - 5 points ahead of Utd with a game in hand.

                If my auntie had bollocks...
                Another MASSIVE game

Yup. Beat the teams around you or beat the rest if you can't. We couldn't do either this season. Mind, we are only above Spurs & So'ton because we beat them both home and away.

And how is that any easier of a game
                    Classic BR Comments
Come on now Bender, the first bit about keeping pressure up on the teams above is the sort of thing every football manager on the planet says all the time, and the second he's not saying it will be any easier or anything like that, just that we'll move on and look to win the next game; once again that is the exact sort of thing all managers say. I've got no issue with people pointing out silly things any manager might say but really if you take issue with those utterly formulaic sort of comments you're pretty much asking for a manager who never says anything ever.

it worked well for Bob Paisley

It wouldn't work in the modern age. Being aloof or controversial as opposed to being engaging - you only get away with that if you're winning all the time - so I guess Bob would've been fine, but it's not something id advise Rodgers to follow.
