we've given teams a guard of honour in the past i think we did it for arsenal around 98,and i am sure many years ago we were given one at Anfield so its nothing new.
        who's arsed?

I think the idea of a guard of honour needs to stop anyway.

It's like the non-contested drop-balls ... well, actually ... it's nothing like non-contested drop-balls but they need to stop too.

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that Liverpool will give Chelsea a guard of honour if the Londoners are crowned champions prior to next Sunday's Premier League showdown at Stamford Bridge,

Jose Mourinho’s side will clinch the title if they beat Crystal Palace this weekend and it’s tradition that in the following game the winners are applauded on to the field by their opponents,

That would be a galling experience for the Reds considering the rivalry that exists between the clubs but Rodgers insists that if Chelsea are already champions they will deserve that tribute.

Asked if Liverpool would give Mourinho’s men a guard of honour, Rodgers said: “Absolutely. This club is based on dignity and respect and class.

“Whoever is the champions, that’s what you do.”

It's wank but ultimately I'm not that arsed, it's all a load of bollocks really isn't it. I mean the concept of it, the name of it....a guard of ****ing honour. What a load of bollocks. Our lads'll just be standing there going through the motions, it's all a nonsense really. Means nothing.

This should be done with all the dignity and respect it deserves.

So as its going to be the chav scum it should be line like a guard of honour, with the chav players and manager doing a commando crawl while our lads all piss into the middle.

The golden arched shower of success.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I disagree with the idea of a guard of honour. But it's the done thing & and I think it just makes us look like idiots if we don't do it. I don't see the point in this type of rubbish but I don't get all the crying about it either.
                        Forwards.......

It happens with every league in the country thought doesn't it? Just following protocol, however unpalatable

Yep its traditional. I remember the days when we used to receive the guard of honor almost every season.

How many times has the league been won on the last day in recent years? It's probably been avoided because of that
