All depends on the recruitment this summer and what formation we go with next season. (And obviously whether we stick with Rodgers).
I suspect we'll see Lallana do better, if he can stay fit, and Moreno will become better at defending - the rest of them will either be gone or I hold out little hope for their improvement. Out of all of them I'd like Markovic to kick on but I just do think he has the right temperament to do it in this league. Can, I predict, will struggle next season as he starts to play more games in midfield with us and gets a bit of a pasting before coming good towards the end of the season.
Can
very good but not as a defender. I would play him as a defensive midfield player where gerrard played last year with henderson and milner in front. It wont be an easy move for him but for me he doesnt have the mobility to play in central midfield.
Markovic
If raheem sterling goes then he needs to step up but I think he can. If we're just talking about replacing sterlings impact iro 8 goals and 6 assists then I think he can do that. Very good player just needs to play in his position more.
Lallana
Our marquee signing last year has been underwhelming but if he's fit he can give us 10-15 goals a season. He cant do any worse.
Lovren
Looks better already from early doors. he's still young and has got plenty of learning to do but there's a player there.
Balotelli
its probably best if he moves on
Moreno
very good going forward and we need a very capable DM to help cover his spaces when he goes. I would play him and coutinho on the same side because coutinho always drifts in leaving moreno with the space to attack.
Manquillo
rodgers doesnt fancy him so he will go back.
Lambert
I dont think he's going anywhere personally, at his age of 34ish he's in liverpool and i think he's ok with that.
Origi
too raw to make an immediate impact but has huge potential.
Mario(joker), Lambert (not suited to playing style) & Markovic have been awful signings. Manquillo i can see going back to Athletico & Origi isn't ready to be a starter. Markovic hopefully will improve but he looks like a rabbit in headlights most of the time. Can & Moreno have done ok, Moreno has all the tools physically but he has been pretty poor defensively. Can played most of the season in an unfamiliar role, for a time looked great but hasn't had a good game in months and has looked a real liability in recent times. He is very slow, or rather has slowed down in recent months. Maybe long first season taking its toll.
In saying that i never expected Can or Moreno to play so much for us. Instead of a season of bedding in, real pressure has been put of these guys to produce playing them so regularly. Hopefully next season Moreno be all the wiser and improve defensively & it will be interesting to see if Can gets his chance to play in the midfield regularly. Not doing him any favours exposing his weaknesses playing him out of position. Could be a beast of a player this lad.
As for Lallana as a signing for this season, he's been a disaster. I like him as a player, vey talented just needs to stay fit. IMO it's not fair to judge him on this stop start season. Trying to be positive i would say that Markovic could not do any worse next season & hopefully in a more attacking role, Moreno will be defensively more attune, Can in a more natural position & surely Lallana can't be injured as much!? We need some experienced quality and leaders in there too, to help these lads. Recruitment has to go well.
