An encouraging second half performance.

It was still a very competitive Chelsea side and we looked the more threatening.

Sterling is very ineffective at the moment, I'd not start him in the next one

With a few minutes left we should have sent everyone forward and pumped some long balls forward but that desire to win at all costs isn't there.

Lousy first 30 mins but better team overall imo. Good result there and at least know now where not in champs league the boys can go out and be relaxed in next few games. Coutinho and skrtel were outstanding.

Is a tough ground to go to and get anything.

A few of ours showed why they are not good enough or not ready yet, but enough shown to suggest that a few quality additions to what we already have would see us as a genuine threat.

Needed a goal to keep the top 4 chance alive so Rodgers takes our goal scorer off for Lucas.

I think today left me feeling a little more positive about the future; you add in a mobile goalscorer to out side and we'd be instantly much better, we create chances but are a little toothless up top.

Other positions need sorting but nothing anywhere near as important as someone that can get goals on a consistent basis for us.

You can see Can is itching to influence the game and operate more centrally. Rodgers may as well give it a whirl in our final two matches. Especially as this movement is proving detrimental to how we defend.
