Well fingers crossed we arent that woeful this season and some things start to work out. But I think brendans idea is put enough midfielders on the pitch that can pass well and score and we will dominate teams. I mean theres no reason why he would play 7 in 1 game if that wasnt his hope. Firmino fits that area.

He's fine as a squad player but unfortunately Sturridge is made of glass and we haven't looked like getting a top striker in instead of him so you very quickly get into the realms of Ings being first or second choice for a lot of games, particularly at the start of the season and that just won't cut it for me. If we sign Benteke as the top striker ( ) that wouldn't cut it either as I don't think he's better than or as good as Sturridge and that's the level we should be after.

Support for the team is, doesn't mean you have to blindly approve of every player or decision by the club though.

I think it is also fair to say that questioning a players ability doesn't mean you don't want him to be a success. Nor does questioning the idea that a 23 year old has been brought in for development.

I see Danny is talking about coming back early from his summer break after U21 duty in order to get right in on the front foot.....nice to see, despite the relatively cushy working year of the professional footballer. Still, he can talk the talk

Of course, certain other lads tried to get another few days off despite having a full summer off, and a winter break at the start of the year.

I wasn't implying that, it was more a response to the implied sentiment from Fierce that if you are not confident about a players ability you are somehow less of a fan (which is how his post came across to me).
