He hasn't even been loaned out once nor has he ever been for sale until now.

If we can't get a decent fee for him then I hope he gets a loan at least, sometimes it's also what's best for the player, and he needs to play. No point keeping him here, and frankly a £24m asking price was a bit much even in this market if he has a good season we'll get more than that next year.

should have kept him til Jan window, only a 141 days or something

          Not bad!

That better apply if they are relegated though which I think there's a massive chance of.

Yeah it's probably because they were holding out as long as possible the loan gave them extra time to do a medical etc. They called our bluff and we stood strong!

I think Ings will do well there, they've been crying out for a decent striker and they play good football. I reckon Saints will finish mid table this season.

Very unlucky with injuries. He was the one bright spark at the start of the season when Rodgers got sacked. And had he not got injured in his first training session, i think Ings could have been a good player under Klopp.

That being said, you look at our front three now - and then consider that Shaqiri, a returning Sturridge....Origi and now Brewster too - then Ings has done the best thing for his career and moved on.

Best of luck at Southampton fella.

I hope there is no way for Southampton to renege on the £20m bit. Can't see them being happy to pay £20m for him next summer having had him (and treated him) for a year.

If he's on loan does that mean he can't play against us?
