Burnley will be compensated for the coaching / training of him during his time there

Hes agreed to join LFC, we just have to see the level of compensation set by the tribunal

I wonder if the actual tribunal is binding, ie once you enter the process you have to pay out the level of compensation that the tribunal agrees on (ie there is no backing out of it)
I understand all that, but Ings will be a free agent, there is no legally binding contract therefore no body should be allowed to set a fee that could restrict freedom of movement. It's just blurring the lines between transfer fee and compensation.

Lets see what the fee is & if we sign some quality for the starting 11 alongside these type of signings.

'If' the fee is reasonable & 'If' we do sign some genuine quality to go along with likes of Ings.... then I have zero problem with it

For the final time, its not restricting movement

Hes free to move wherever he wants

Read those rules above once you enter the process it looks legally binding. Liverpool should have been well aware of this even if the bulk of the fans dont appear to be

From the get-go I was aware he wasnt coming on a free and that a tribunal would set the level of compensation. I was also expecting that compensation amount to be a new record amount and it is one of the reasons I have been questioning whether he is actually better than Borini. I personally have doubts as to whether he is and the fact we would probably be spending over £6.5 million compensation for him made me against it even more

Hes clearly read the rules of the tribunal committee in particular this one

3.8 substantiated interest shown by other clubs in acquiring the registration of the Player.

Do we know for sure that Spurs have put that bid in, or is it just unsubstantiated paper talk?

is it too late for us to counter with a £2.50 offer, just to add some balance to the deliberations of the tribunal.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                      We dont know for certain

I suspect LFC will know (they will have asked Ings if he received any confirmation of this from Burnley). Burnley would have evidence if it took place (faxed bid??)

All this evidence will be submitted to the tribunal

It is if it stops him from making his move to Liverpool or any other club he wants to join.

I dont think speculating how a Tribunal would work is helping anything though. None of us know how they work. So its just speculation.

Spurs bid might mean everything, or nothing. As the Panel is independent, it should mean nothing. But who knows.

Oh yeah, I know WE wont know for certain, I was just wondering whether it had been reported by reputable media, or if it was a made-up-sunday-tabloid sort of thing.

The club could slip the local non-league teams a couple of grand each to submit low-ball bids - then there's plenty of evidence to counter the Spurs bid

Well it's all very very confusing tbh..

It wont though as going to tribunal is legally binding (so he will join no matter what the compensation fee is set at)

This sounds like whingeing for the sake of ****ing whingeing

You know the Bosman rules and who they apply to (as does the club), you know who is free (as do the club) and you know those who if you sign you will have to go to tribunal (as do the club)

There are no grey areas here, "its all there black and white clear as crystal"

If hes as good an upgrade as many people are saying then hes worth the tribunal fee. My problem was I never thought he was an upgrade on Borini or Lambert and couldnt understand our pursuit of him even for a nominal fee amount nevermind a record Tribunal fee
