edit - it was an infamous Gary Lineker quote but following immediately on from Bob's post it looked a trifle racist so I've deleted it

Jokes aside, Ian Wright was a player who started out late and improved from team to team with better players around him. I think his physique and playing style is quite similar and he seems to be a bit of a joker too

Ings is gonna be well accepted by fans & teammates as he's a workhorse...should be sponsored by Duracell!
His non-stop running will pull defenders from their team shape which will enable our attacking midfield to find space to hurt the opposition.
Last time we had a guy like that, we did well that season so no pressure there, Ingsy! =)
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

He's going to be the new Dirk Kuyt
                          Kuyt could pass though!

Wish we really did have a player like Kuyt.

You shouldn't look too much at pass stats from a relegated team Matt. I'm sure you're aware that poor teams tend to come under pressure quicker, get boxed in more and generally have less options to pass.

Also Burnley were a counter attacking team and teams like that in forward areas take risky passes on that often result in the loss of the ball.

As for Kuyt - I was never his biggest fan, but whether we played Burnley or Barca, the man never once dropped his levels. Others would panic in big games, he never did and was always on hand to finish in the big games.

Highly intelligent with his positioning, he was a dream player for Rafa.

It is worrying because our forwards will be kept under a closer watch than those at Burnley, it takes a lot more to suceed at a bigger club.

                              Kuyt was great

He doesn't have that extra bit of ability required to play for a club like Liverpool. Players like Baros, Cisse, Crouch, Morientes were all better imo.
And all, Crouch excluded, performed at a far lower level than the more rudimentary Kuyt.

                                I think he'll be great.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
