Spurs' ridiculous bid of £12m won't help. It must have been a thank you for somebody at Burnley burning Archway Metals near White Hart Lane.
I'm pretty sure we will have offered something reasonable, but Burnley's greed has caused this tribunal. As others have pointed out - they haven't developed Ings other than giving him game time. I hope it's pence.

If its set to high we should just say '**** you' and bail out of the deal. Cancel his contract and resign him in July on a free and give him the bonus money. He'll be 24 then and Burnley can **** right orf the greedy *******s

Spurs bought Trippier in the summer but lodged a bid for Ings in March. Who bids £12m for somebody who is available for 'free' in three months time? It's a real sly, ****house thing to do and gives Burnley's case credibility by showing substantiated interest at that price.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostDidn't Spurs buy Trippier around that time?

I don't think that is necessarily the case. They could easily see that free would never have meant free and decided that they were wiling to pay a premium on a likely fee of around £8-9 million. We don't know what the breakdown of the £12m bid was either. It's annoying for us but there is no reason to assume it was anything other than a genuine attempt to purchase a goalscorer.Originally posted by Muddled View PostSpurs bought Trippier in the summer but lodged a bid for Ings in March. Yeah exactly. Its just some rich blokes money going to another rich bloke. Ultimately money in football is all pointless to normal fans. Just something get riled up about.
As long as it doesnt stop us getting the players we need this summer, it can be £100m for all I care.*Except Michael, who died.

I like it. Even if it's not possible, there is probably a mechanism to prevent something that like. Plus the club would be hard to deal with in future deals if they did it of course.
