Klopp said Ings felt the games were too intense for him (pre-season), and didn't feel comfortable.

He's also refuted the possibility of a sale, after people misinterpreted his comments about Ings, Benteke and Balotelli.

Ings just scored for the U23's

Over a season I think we will need that depth. Ings and Origi offer some similar attributed but other than that it is a pretty varied and versatile quartet.

I suppose we could however use Mane as a forward. Think he looks better coming from a bit deeper though.

Ings was great before he got injured. Definitely has something to offer this side.

He just needs time, Ings always had to be at the top of his ability and confidence to really develop with us and it wouldn't surprise me at all after that injury if we don't see all that much of him until the second half of this season. He'll be a really useful backup to have at that point when we suffer the inevitable injuries.

he looks a long way off, will be a couple of months of youth, closed door and cup games to get him back right. I'd throw him the way of a championship side on 2/3 month loan with option of a recall to get some proper footie back into him

No chance, he will be a few weeks away at most.

He's a naturally fit energetic person so he will have himself back in shape in no time.

Klopp has already allowed Jon Flanagan to depart on loan, also to Burnley, as he continues his rehabilitation after missing more than a season with a knee injury. “It’s similar to Danny,” Klopp said. “After a long injury you need time and the opportunity to play.”

Ings is going nowhere. Klopp"s quote was in relation to Ingsy playing for the U23's and getting some regular game time to help with fitness

Hopefully cos it would be a bit risky to elevate Ben Woodburn to the seniors!

Yup, The Echo didn't report the quotes as indicating we'd loan him out.

Klopp revealed that Danny Ings has staked a claim for inclusion in the squad to face his former club on Saturday.

The ex-Burnley frontman scored for Liverpool under-23s against Southampton last weekend with Klopp keen to ensure he builds up his match fitness following his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury.

                          “I like Danny,” Klopp added.

“I talked to him last week and said in my opinion it made more sense that he collects game time. He scored a goal and it was all good.

“It’s the same with all the players - show me your best and then give me difficult decisions to make.

“Hopefully it stays like this and on Friday I have to make difficult decisions because no-one has given me the sign that they don’t want to be involved.”

“It’s similar to Danny,” Klopp said
Hmm, not my recollection. He said 'it's the same with Danny' and then corrected himself saying it's not really the same but similar, or words to that effect. He consciously made a distinction between the situation of flanno and inns, then said the quotes above in Mr M's post.
