What a great start to the season this lad is having. I had my doubts about him and didn't see him as our starter here but playing alongside VVD he's been immense and Deyan might have to get used to the bench when he returns.

Nah we will have loads of games.....even if we need Lovren for one game this season, it could be a vital one.

The fact that there isn't a world cup or euros at the end of this season will probably mean that someone like Lovren is unlikely to kick off and want to move for guaranteed game time. He could be part of a title winning squad.....when you think of what that would mean - especially because it has been so long for LFC - then someone like dejan would be stupid to want out

He is a young defender, as good as he has been so far in that role, there is a good chance that at some point he will make a mistake or his form will dip or we will want to give him a break or something and Lovren will come in and get a run of games

He made 2 mistakes I can remember yesterday, the sloppy pass early on which VVD made a good recovery and then later he got too tight to Moura who turned him and led to one of their best chances. Hes still young and learning so we can forgive him the odd lapse (as long as he's not repeating the same errors). Apart from those blips, I thought he was great and seems to be a really good partner for VVD.

He does seem to have gained some extra zip this season (has he's lost some bulk?). There were a couple of times I thought Moura was through but big Joe just turned on the afterburners - what a tackle this was

VvD clapping before he even touches the ground. I think VvD is enjoying playing with him. Gomez does continue to make the same mistakes every season but he will eventually cut them out. The rest of his game is too strong to ignore.
