Gomez has fantastic potential. He has the potential to be the best and his quality stood out as early as his first few games here under Rodgers.

The most impressive aspect of his performance last night was that he maintained a high standard of play on a night when VVD had a rare average to poor game. Was really good to see him play in such a proactive and assertive manner and show that he can cover for his partner as well as learn from him.
I felt he was as good for us as Koulibaly was for Napoli, and Koulibaly is one of the guys I was raving about in the summer for us to bring in to play alongside VVD.
Was another in a line of very strong performances this season from Gomez, and we have kind of lucked into having him as a starter this season thanks to Lovern and Matip not being ready at the start of the season.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Spot on as usual. Gomez is going to be a massive star

Nice to see him getting some recognition; even if it is only from Garth '....erm....' Crooks
Joe Gomez: In a game at Anfield where very few people managed to keep their cool, Gomez did. Virgil van Dyke uncharacteristically blew a gasket when he charged into Leroy Sane to give away a penalty. Dejan Lovren was also lucky not to have given away two penalties as Liverpool looked more jittery than I have seen them for some time.
Gomez, meanwhile, looked as safe as houses. Whether this young man plays in the centre of defence or as a full-back he is an outstanding defender and one you can rely upon.
Did you know? Liverpool have only lost one of the last 25 games that Joe Gomez has played in the Premier League. What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

Been a beast at CB but i'm not a fan of him at fullback. I thought we missed Trent's attacking skillset something terrible yesterday but I would imagine Gomez was put there to help with Mendy bombing on. Funny thing is that Mendy was so preoccupied to Salah, he actually hardly burst forward the whole game.
I would like to See Gomez back partnering VVD, even though Lovren played well and Trent has been poor lately. I just think the balance is better.

Pep has meant to be sniffing around for 18 months and i've had a horrible nagging feeling we'd bite their hand off for 50 million before he discovered this form.
Last two performances at RB have been class on top of his partnership with VVD. 21 and not for sale regardless.
Difficult not to get excited about him and Trent, the last time we were excited about English defenders we were talking about Flano, Kelly and Wisdom being mainstays for club and country for 10 years.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I was actually searching for my own posts. Fairly certain I got carried away with all 3. Remember all I said about Flanno and stand by it, so didn't need to check that. Kelly and/or Wisdom I definitely remember comparing to Micah Richards (in a good away) after a few games.
Didn't pan out as expected, but probably a fair comparison in hindsight.
