great again. he was up against sanchez and most of arsenals threat down our right [according to bbc] and he was excellent. some vital interceptions, but often his excellent positioning and great work rate was enough to force them to go back and try elsewhere.

What a fantastic start he's made. I thought he was average - a Finnan type but nowhere near as good. That seems ridiculous now, although it's still early days. Him and Gomez are making a huge difference.

I've noticed this earlier in the season (not sure about WHU at home as not seen any of it) and I noticed it again today.

Not sure whether it is something they are working on in training or if it is something he has always done but Clyne plays the ball far too early far too often. He'll beat the man and try and cross from 40 yards out when he has a quarter of the pitch empty space to run into. And the crosses have frequently been poor.

From what I saw of Villa they used to try and get a cross in as early as possible to Benteke. I'm guessing so that the defence doesn't have time to get into position to deal with it.

I thought Clyne was poor today.. Terrible in possession. In saying that everyone else was poor so tough to single anyone out.

Aston Villa did similar with a midfielder at RB in Bacuna. He had better delivery than Clyne. To excel in football you have to know what you can't do. Maybe he needs to learn that.

Bargain. One of the signings of the summer so far.

Looked very impressive on the left. Was great to see him driving down the line & getting as high as into their box...where he scored!! Brilliant performance.

Probably his best game for us and on the wrong side!
